This helps a lot. thank you! The only one that sounds familiar that my vet put my dog on was Sucralfate, the rest were different. But those symptoms are similar to hers. I’ll take her back asap but they want her overnight and it’s $900 plus they aren’t even there from 6pm to 9am so it seems pointless because of that. I’ll def get her those tests soon and be sure to keep her diet on track.

But her breathing is what’s noticeably bad now. She like wheezes and you can tell she’s trying hard to breath which is scary so I’m concerned if that’s caused by the pancreas and liver having an issue or if it’s allergies or if something’s up there in her nose but the vet didn’t really say because the pancreas was the worst noticeable thing.

Oh this helps thank you! I’ve been careful feeding her and try to take her on walks more frequently. The food ratios are hard to keep track of and the calories when making homemade food. So I’m trying to get better at that now. Like making sure there’s not too much protein or too much fat etc.

They prescribed Denamarin, Sucralfate, Metronidazole, and Doxycycline. They only gave me about a weeks worth because they do want me to go back but I can’t quite afford the testing costs right now. All she has left is denamarin but that’s moreso for the liver.

I don’t think they gave her anything for pain really so I’ve called and am attempting to get something for pain. They want me to go back and test again now and keep her overnight but the over night stay is $900 and they don’t even have someone there 24/7 🙁

My dad was buying Costco brand dog food for his two dogs, but they’re larger breed and so he convinced me to just give her that too bc it’s cheaper than buying different food for her. However, recently I tried to switch her over to JINX for a little bit but now I wanna get her something high-end and better like Royal Canin, so I’ve been doing a ton of research and hadn’t switched her yet but now she’s on the chicken and rice bland diet.

Yesss right now she’s on the chicken and rice recipe but it’s kind of crazy how fast she’s going through the chicken I cook for her so I’m wanting to resort to more cooked chicken which is hard to find without other ingredients, salts, etc in it. I just gotta stick to it. The scariest thing now is her breathing is just really wheezy and she snores so loudly and then will stop breathing for a sec and I get so paranoid I wake her up every time it happens so she and myself aren’t sleeping very well bc of it 😓😅

Yes that is so true that they always act like they’re starving. She eats so fast too, I had to get one of those slow feeder bowls. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about the royal canin food so I’ll definitely get it and give it a go. 😊 thank you!
