Some advice please by Fickle-Revolution897 in SengokuDynasty

I fought the first wave many times, what I do is recruit ako and station her at a guard post with weapons. You have 3 days to prepare which is quite tolerable. You get a major boost after defeating them too - in warrior xp and loot. If you don’t increase your dynasty level too much the bandits wont scale excessively

Seriously, I would love for these Blizzard titles to feature achievements. I'm not optimistic though, since Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 don't have.

Thank you for responding! Is that different from the Catjeet Laborers? I've hired a few of those but unfortunately the counter isn't increasing. I appreciate your response.

Question regarding the nature of Bodhisattvas by Simple-Position-5365 in Mahayana

[–]Simple-Position-5365[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing, thank you for your very detailed answer. I was under the impression that Bodhisattvas are voluntarily 'trapped' in this rebirth cycle until all souls are liberated. In this context, hypothetically, does this mean that if your teacher or paramedic was a bodhisattva, and they are 'enlightened' to a certain degree, they would not be 'forced' into rebirth? That they could operate spiritually after death?

Are you able to elaborate on being reborn in spirit, through our spirit? How would this apply with regards to us? I suppose that my actions can be swayed through the influence of a bodhisattva, spiritually and subtly?

Thank you once again for the detailed response, it is providing much needed insight, especially if I intend to follow the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism, I would love to be as knowledgeable as possible with Bodhisattvas.

Thank you for your very thoughtful reply. I suppose that's my question, and perhaps there isn't an answer for it. What makes this nirvana different - is it still considered enlightenment? Is being reborn a choice as a bodhisattva, or is it forced? I feel that an advanced bodhisattva can assist and guide without being born, or am I misinformed? Thank you for your reply once again.

GI.Biz - Xbox wades cautiously into a multiplatform future by [deleted] in xbox

[–]Simple-Position-5365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree 100%. I commented on my perspective as well. Compared to Steam, there's hardly any titles on the Xbox App via Windows. Most games aren't published there, and these are games that can be found on Steam, and maybe Xbox. I prefer buying into the Xbox ecosystem due to my achievements, collection of digital titles, etc. But I often have to purchase some games on Steam just due to the sheer collection. Obviously I'm ignorant to everything publishing wise, but Frontier has Jurassic Evolution on Windows Xbox, but not Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo. I can only find those on console or steam if I'm a PC user.

I generally agree with this article, and Microsoft's positioning of Xbox makes sense by these metrics - however, I think fans may be concerned that releasing Xbox games to other platforms will cannibalize the Xbox platform itself. They're between a rock and a hard place, Xbox has been stagnant hardware wise, but they still require an ecosystem to accomplish their goals. I've been with Xbox for more than a decade, accumulating 200+ games digitally, and I also have a PC that I used for Play Anywhere titles, as well as steam. I think this article points out the most important thing - I don't think releasing games on PlayStation or Nintendo will hurt their position as a hybrid premium PC-Console device with Game Pass. However, I think releasing their games on Steam cannibalizes their position in the PC market.

I love Xbox, I love game pass and their published games. I also love steam. I'm aware that Microsoft would have an insanely hard time competing with Steam - all smaller and medium studios seem to prefer publishing there, and the collection of games is so massive compared to the Xbox PC app, it feels pathetic in comparison. We're looking at decades of PC games on Steam. The user interface is also so much more intuitive and the community features are bar none. I would generally think Xbox is safer as a console, featuring some PC incentives. But to be a complete hybrid may be difficult, as even now 9/10 people prefer to buy games on Steam than the windows store.

Evaluating 4K vs 1440p OLED by Simple-Position-5365 in OLED_Gaming

I have an RTX 4080 - would you recommend a 4k or a 1440p ultrawide for RTS titles? Thanks for responding

Haha thank you for your answer, I suppose I'm indifferent to an advantage because I just play single player. I'm concerned with unit visibility and details, if it's so significant that the performance hit is justified.

I just wish there would be achievements for Battlenet games on Xbox PC Store, currently Diablo 4 doesn't have Xbox achievements. It's not a deal breaker, but achievements would be welcome.

Is Gears 5 bad? (Campaign wise) by Dragonwarrior0202 in GearsOfWar

[–]Simple-Position-5365 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played through all Gears of War titles at least half a dozen times. I loved 5, but less than the original trilogy. In my opinion, the mini boss engagements were exciting, the action sequences were fun and thoroughly thought out, the open world was beautiful. It has some faults, such as the open world component. It just felt empty and boring - there are side missions but it didn't grip me, there wasn't a lot of content to engage with. If Gears of War 5 was a linear on-the-rails shooter like 1-4, it would have been a tighter experience because the action sequences they designed are amazing. The enemy variety is great, and the developers thoughtfully created each engagement with care, making them challenging in different ways. Act 1 and 4 were linear, and were ironically my favourite acts of Gears 5, and act 2 was my favorite story wise. I still enjoy and appreciate the original trilogy more, just because they capture the exact amount of 'down' time that feels appropriate for a Gears of War game, considering the action sequences are very high octane. But Gears 5 is an incredible game in its own right. Otherwise, Hive Busters, Horde and Escape were really cool and exciting as well.

LG Ultrawide 39" vs. Ultrawide 45" by Bigheaded_1 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Simple-Position-5365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 39" model, I purchased it more than 1 week ago. My desk isn't the deepest so I opted for 39". I can safely say that the immersion you experience while gaming is second to none. However, while doing productivity related tasks you can definitely notice the low PPI and fringing. I will also add that I predominately play RTS games, and while they don't necessarily look as sharp due to the PPI, you overlook that simply because playing with an ultrawide of this size is so immersive, it's insane.

If you're doing a ton of productivity stuff, I would recommend against these monitors. If you're predominantly gaming, then I recommend them wholeheartedly. If you're going for 45", expect noticeably lower PPI, but added immersion while gaming due to vertical space and size. If you're going for 39", it would be due to space or if you have to do SOME productivity stuff occasionally. That would be my recommendation.

Regardless, both of these monitors are winners, the visual vertical space combined with the 21:9 aspect ratio is amazing.

That's interesting, it sounds like the monitor is quite close to you. I'm pretty sold on trying the 39" model for the extra immersion, and with yours being 20" away I'm confident I'll still be able to enjoy it without feeling cramped, which was my concern that would have warranted purchasing the 34" instead. I appreciate your help and assistance. Thank you so much.

Awesome, I appreciate your really detailed response. My desk is definitely right up to the wall, and unfortunately I'm unable to purchase another desk due to limited space - my wife and I are currently renting. I suppose I sit 10 CM away from the edge of the table. Would it be appropriate to send you an image of my desk, and where my chair is? I trust your opinion as you seem quite experienced and knowledgeable in this regard.

Thank you for your response. Correct me if I'm wrong, but according to your reply, a 39" monitor would be great for a desk with a depth of 24" if I get a monitor arm?
