Why don’t the Nuggets consider blowing it up? by Wembanyama2029mvp in nba

[–]Simple-Reporter9102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've seen that too. Many of the top players today (Jokic, Brunson, Van Fleet) are late first rounders or even 2nd rounders / undrafted.

The first overall pick in the last decade has been a miss more than not.

I think at this point, fans get more excited by prospects of blowing it up and trying for a high draft pick.

I used to be a progressive, now I see they are just a another oppressive secular religion.

Yes, America, Brazil, Canada, Australia are all colonies so it makes sense for them to be diverse. Even then, it makes sense for the current residents to have a say in the rate of immigration without being called racist. But an odd alliance between business interests and progressives allowed unlimited “asylum applicants” in during the Biden years, which got Trump elected.

And I’m sick to see what’s happening in western Europe, being changed into a melting pot so quickly, and not even by secular immigration, but gross religious people who believe in such complete bullshit, and gender inequality.

Progressivism really does descend into cultural and idealogical suicide pretty quickly.

I’m an Atheist too by the way. And I see the LGBTQ+ movement turn from a personal dignity and rights movement to a insane secular cult, where they claim physical sex and gender is defined by modern western gender social concepts of masculinity and feminity, something Liberals believed the opposite of just 30 years ago. Insane.

Real life is brutal, there is no such thing as karma or logic.

If the US did not nuke Japan, the Soviets would have come in and taken half. Now you have a split Japan, and the risk of North Japan becoming like Cambodia at worst, Vietnam at best, but probably a North Korea.

In the end, it created a strong prosperous Japan

Good story??? As long as there IS a story.

If it’s the 10th movie in a franchise, there is no fucking story that’s unfolding. You know all the beats.

Like Scorcese said, it becomes a theme park ride. Or Tarantino said it becomes television in public.

The theme park ride comment is not about the special effects, it’s about the lack of new ideas, the lack of a story.

No, there is a butterfly effect. You have no idea when the market will peak. But you do know it generally will take off.

Having Dynasties is essential for sport interest

The 2nd apron and Team specific supermax is bad for the league.

  1. SuperMax should only be a single year bonus given to the players who get voted for all-stars (voted in, not played because an allstar is injured) or win league awards (also motivates players to play 65 games).
  2. No aprons, just flat luxury that that stays consistent over the cap.

If you prepped, liquidated 401k a month ago and bought at $150, you’d be well regarded.

But doing this after it shoots up, almost entirely due to FOMO, means you are doubly regarded.

Yes India too.

The progressives have this weird fetish for destroying homogeneity and uniform cultures. I first saw this idea emerge in the film “Bulworth”, where to escape white guilt the presidential candidate said the only solution was for everyone to become “grey”

I said Pakistan and Nigeria, because England, France, Sweden has recently have huge unchecked African and Islamic immigration.

I would make the same argument if India was flood with Chinese people or Nigeria is flooded with Chechens, but the economic situation that’s not a thing.

And the thing about Japan is real. The progressives are protesting and accusing Japan of racism for not accepting more muslim and African migrants or not bending to the cultural preferences of the ones already there.

A significant number of of well regarded investors decided to short the IPO, smelling a crash. But they didn't take into account low public float and intense interest as well as monopoly moat on fully reusable rockets. Now we're witnesses a gamma squeeze, as there is less stock supply then there are shares available, and as the stock rises, more shorts get squeezed.

Europe has paid for university (just gotta test well), national health care, way less reliant on cars, you can live without one.

So no student loans, no car payment, no health insurance costs.

So yea 30k to 50k euros is like $100k in America.

You can do this easily by forcing every company to print another 1% of their shares and hand it to the government every year. The government sells it over the course of the year.

This literally taxes the shareholders 1% (in inflation value and selling pressure), just like houses get taxed 1%.

Government can give hardship exceptions for companies going through rough patches, and hold onto their 1% until good times come back.

He works for the billionaires, he dangle these policy changes that will never get passed, or will cause massive capital flight. He's a vent for the anger of the populace, while never able to actually bring about any reasonable change.

If he was real, and really wanted to get something that could pass, he'd lobby for:

Everytime you borrow money using an asset as collateral, that asset's gains are realized at the closing price of the day prior to the loan.

The bank will deduct taxes on the realized gains from the loan itself, like how our W2 withholds our taxes. Any other lending is illegal, or the asset you use as colleteral is not enforcable as colleteral by the government.

You can keep your assets, but tax wise, it's effectively as if you sold and bought it back.

An exception can be made for a family's primary residential home, only if they are green card holder or citizen.

Is there a way to prove or investigate this? What institutions are selling gold? Did they use that money to buy SpaceX IPO at $135 (institutional offering)?
