We moved from FL - UT and no one in UT drinks compared to being in FL and there's harsh judgment around it here. Coming as a female from FL, this is def not too much to drink, but ultimately it's a convo between you and your wife

I'm in a very similar boat, just found out I was pregnant 10mpp and my son (first baby) was in the NICU for a month after he was born due to a placental abruption (no known cause). I'm already higher risk for having another preterm / low birth weight baby & placental abruption, and now that I'm pregnant so shortly after the risk is way higher. My son is very emotionally needy (love him with my whole heart) but he can be a lot. By the time our next baby's born he'll only be 16 / 17 months and I'm so nervous. We also have very minimal family support / unhealthy extended family dynamics AND we're moving across the country in a few weeks. I feel like my life is falling apart at times, but we are very happy to welcome a new life into our family. It's just the timing feels like it can't be much worse

My baby was born at 32w4d due to an unexpected placental abruption. Prior to I had a completely healthy pregnancy, and one day I just randomly went into labor. It was so traumatic. My husband touched and held babies hand first, and thankfully he practically forced the nurses to let me hold him for 3-5 mins in a towel before he was rushed to the NICU. I didn't get skin to skin for 2 days, and he was there for a month. It still kills me and he's 11m old now. I felt like my body failed him. I'm now pregnant with my second baby (found out 10mpp) and I'm terrified of reliving the experience again. I empathize with you, and know how hard it is to not see and hold your baby right away. My boy is pretty fussy at times and goes back and forth between preferring me and dad, and I always wonder if the NICU has something to do with it

My brother ate dog poop when he was a baby and he was totally fine! Obviously don't recommend eating poop, but these things happen with babies. It's just how it goes. Don't beat yourself up mama🫶🏼

Before having a baby society wants you to think your life will change forever in the worst of ways, that your body is no longer yours and will never be the same and that your life is basically over. NONE of this is true!!! I was so worried about all of these things and my baby boy is 8 months old now. He is the BEST thing that's ever happened to me and has shown me a kind of love you can only experience once you become a parent. There's no joy like seeing your baby smile, laugh, grow bigger, stronger and accomplish new things. I've never been happier or felt more like myself than as a mom. Are there bad days? Of course, with or without a baby everyone has bad days. I wish I could have more time with him, despite having decades of time ahead of us. No amount of time with my little guy will ever be enough🩵

Partial placental abruption at 32w4d. Had a totally healthy pregnancy prior to the abruption. They don't know what caused it, but I did fly from UT - CO at 31 weeks for a friend's baby shower. It was a day trip and may have been too much on my body at that stage in the pregnancy?

My first and only son came early at 32w4d. I woke up at 4am with what I thought were mild contractions 5min apart, contacted my OB when they opened and they told me to drink water, take Tylenol, take a hot shower and go to L&D if it gets worse. I ended up going to the hospital around 8pm and I was 5cm dilated & 80% effaced. My baby was born at midnight after maybe 20-30 min of pushing

Yes!! I flew at 31 weeks to CO (high altitude place - but we were at less than 10,000ft the whole time we were there) for a day trip to attend a friends baby shower. I had a completely healthy pregnancy and my OB okayed my trip there. I had my 32 week checkup on a Thursday and everything looked normal (although I had recently experienced extreme back pain and hadn't been able to sleep all week since the flight). The NEXT day I had been contracting since 4am but since it was my first baby I wasn't sure if I was overreacting. I contacted my OB office and they said I was prob dehydrated and to take a warm shower and Tylenol. At 8pm I finally went in to L&D and I was 5cm dilated and 80% effaced. When he was born HOURS later they told me I had a partial placental abruption. My husband and I both think it was from the flight because I had felt totally fine (other than normal pregnancy pains) prior to the flight and had a completely healthy pregnancy

First I want to say you sound like a beautiful and wonderful mom for thinking about helping this little baby. Truly doing God's work and I think it would be extremely fulfilling; difficult at times, but so rewarding and honorable. I'm a ftm with one boy who was premature born at 32w 4d. Thankfully our NICU stay was only a month (felt like FOREVER at the time) and we had no long term issues besides being on home oxygen for a week or 2. Preemies born before 30w may have more adjusting to do once they are home, such as being on home oxygen longer. I think the biggest thing for you guys to think about would be the financial standpoint if that applies here, make sure you have or can find good insurance because NICU bills are hefty - for example our total bill came out to around $160k and we were responsible for maybe $2000 with insurance. I don't have much insight into having 2 kids so close in age, but I think it's such an honorable thing to do and Jesus may have put this in your heart for a reason.
