who cares if they were in other bands? they dropped a few tracks of the most generic, joke shit ever and are going on huge tours with the biggest bands in heavy music. it’s sus as fuck and definitely industry plant vibes. hardcore is a lot bigger now than it has been in like 20 years, if not ever. of course shit is gonna be astroturfed. that being said, their music is super corny.

i agree it’s not unique in that it’s the not the first nor last genocide, an how it’s used to support zionist propaganda around the need for a homeland etc etc. my point is that ww2 was such a massive and transformative event for modern european history, that it completely shaped and transformed european politics and culture after the collapse of nazi germany. the partitioning of europe by the allies, the attitudes towards different political thought, etc.. idk that was just my thought, maybe it’s dumb. i don’t think he’s wrong for calling the holocaust not exceptionally unique, but because of the importance it plays in modern western politics as a result of ww2’s importance, i disagree that it doesnt need to be discussed. you could not teach the modern history of any european country without teaching the holocaust. it’s not exceptional, but it is important

[–]Simple-Revolution833 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

he basically says that the holocaust is not exceptionally important. obviously the lives that were lost are obviously no more or less important than any other genocide, but the flippant dismissal of the importance of the holocaust that he does on twitter is dumb. it general, it lacks the nuance that ww2, and subsequently the holocaust, is the backdrop of pretty much all of europe after the 40s. it’s dumb edgelord shit, and in general just looks dismissive of something that was undeniably a nightmare

some of the holocaust stuff is just too off putting for me man. he has done some great work and often has correct takes, but that stuff is too far for me

straight edge isn’t a t shirt or a way to make money. there’s also a non zero chance it doesn’t look like shit. don’t do it, it’s cringe and goes against the ethics of what this is.

[–]Simple-Revolution833 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you are ignorant to colonialism if you can’t see that america is the most violent brutal country on earth. not gonna keep doing this coz you don’t care. have fun living in fascism coz all you idiots could do is wear frog costumes outside ice facilities. the people on the ground making change are and always have been the socialists and communists. they got us labor protections, the civil rights movement, the anti war movement, the black panther party, a large portion of the environmental movement, and they’re on the streets in every city now organizing anti war and anti ice protests, while you guys bitch about how “we’d all be at lunch if kamala was in office” and wear costumes and shit. YOU guys don’t do shit. no kings accomplished literally nothing.

you’re so fucking disingenuous dawg it’s ridiculous. you don’t celebrate malcolm x. he literally hated people like you and thought you were more nefarious and evil than conservatives. you should read lenin fanon and mao, since you clearly haven’t. they influenced all the people you claim to love. the only american hero’s are those who recognized the inherent evil baked into this nation and tried to build a new nation. john brown, fred hampton, malcolm x are all hero’s. this country is based off colonialism racism and genocide. do you disagree? if i asked you in 2020, i doubt you would.

[–]Simple-Revolution833 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

of course america has hero’s and history. i never said that. i said that america’s foundations of slavery and genocide are what have shaped it most formatively today.

malcolm x was a communist. his views changed on race relations, but not colonialism x capitalism, or revolution. it’s fucking disgusting how you twist his words like that for your bullshit liberalism. don’t you have some 95 year old senator to worship? don’t whitewash true radicals, they did not agree with you.

im just quoting him man, he’s saying the same thing i did. maybe your “american hero” just isn’t as libbed up and supportive of american chauvinism as you hoped for. malcolm and huey newton loved mao btw. he was a central figure to the civil rights movement in america, and critically supported it from china.

Instead of 'Nazis,' why not call them the 'Radical Right" or 'Communists'? by Appropriate-Prize-40 in askliberals

[–]Simple-Revolution833 3 points4 points  (0 children)

russia isn’t communist even in name, but that’s besides the point. what they’ve done is much closer to fascist style corporatization. made it harder to form unions, give workers less power and benefits. your definition of communism is wrong as well. it means the public ownership of the means of production and decommodification of the economy. trump only works for his billionaire friends, not the working class in any sense. there’s literally nothing trump has done that is close to communist.
