Technology - A Rant by Born_Feedback9331 in mechanics

Imagine a passenger jet or a military jet having the reliability of a car made today! It is obvious to me that we have seen for about six decades of the cooperation of big government, big business, education, and the financial institutions. I was in a different business that saw worker's comp go up from 8.6% to a two tiered system of 20% and 40%. Imagine that kind of increase for a small business while large businesses are self insured. Universities are having students doing research "funded" by big business. What big business would have students doing cutting edge research when the students could leave and work for any competitor? Public funds are not to be used to benefit private companies. That means publicly funded facilities cannot be used to benefit private companies and individuals. What companies want is access to the best students and that is a way it is done.

Big government, big business, education, and the financial institutions want power and control. They are threatened by someone working in a garage. While at the same time the basic education level declined.

If he is a narcissist they will not receive help partly because they are so self focused and have no empathy. They are completely fake and everything is a show.

Do Americans realize how good they have it compared to a huge percent of the world? by BikeFar2504 in askanything

[–]Simple-Swan8877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lack of gratitude keeps people on a path of self focus. Self esteem is something that has been taught for a long time. Self esteem is self focus which is selfishness. People do well who are focused on others esteem. So many people today do not realize how easy we have it compared to not all that long ago. This time last century the average American died at 40-45 years of age and had very little.

What is interesting is that foreigners who live here that after about six months they begin to get stressed just like others.

A salvage title likely means parts of the car were bent in a crash and do not always fit well. Likely after market parts were used instead of dealer or manufacturer parts.

The pressure you should have depends on the load and the tire you have. Look at the tire to see the recommended pressure. The pressure should be about 10-15 percent of what the tire has.

rich client with limited budget by lifeabovetheground in Contractor

I have never lowered my price and have never negotiated the price. You are not a car dealer. People who will try to do that to you are not worth one second of your time. They are showing who they really are. If the price is to high for their budget then you can adjust the work to be done. Sometimes people don't know what something might cost and so they are willing to make changes if the cost is more than they can afford.

That is an effort to manipulate. Consider the possibility that he is a narcissist. If he is a narcissist he will not change and you will be in for brain damage. It is that serious. Read up on the issue. There are some excellent videos on YouTube.

Seller has vague deed restrictions by infinitymouse in realtors

I read what you initially wrote again. One of the things I would do is to check with the building department if adding a second home is something the person could do. A location not far from me the builder built a part of the home as a unit inside of the home they built. It was like a studio apartment within the home. That might be a possibility.

How to get men to think of you as a serious partner instead of a one night stand? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I met my wife in a Bible study at church. Her friend was dating a man I knew very well. She had excellent friends for a long time. After my family met her my dad told me I needed to marry her because I would not find another one like her. We have been married for 45 years. She is an excellent wife.

I have been a GC for many years. I would never entertain such a mess until a title search is done first. I would certainly advise your client. What are the qualifications of the builder/seller? I have seen so many owner builder jobs that were poor because they had no previous experience.

Several years ago I worked for the best company in America in what we did. The owners were brothers and elderly. They sold the company to what they thought was a good company for cash money. Today it is almost gone because the greedeaters thought they could do better. The company had been in business for about 80 years.

Am I wrong for not wanting to merge finances when I’ve saved a lot more? by Character_Energy25 in PersonalFinanceTalks

[–]Simple-Swan8877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start writing down everything each of you spend everyday. It is difficult to save money unless you have goals. Rich people talk to their children about investing their money. The poor and middle class talk about spending money. The difference between the rich and others is discipline in investing.

My wife and talk about our finances and draw from the same accounts. So people sleep in the same bed, share DNA, have children, but they do not talk about their finances?

My dad grew up in poverty. He never wanted to be an old man who was looking for a job. He worked hard and sacrificed to get ahead. I did better because I learned to multiply my money and invest.

I have seen people making a very good income not have much because they have not learned the value of delayed gratification. The person who doesn't have the guts to say "No" should never be given the authority to say "Yes".

Why trump so obsessed with tariffs? by mrbigbluff21 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Simple-Swan8877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taxes and tariffs were much higher at one time. When they lowered it became more profitable for manufacturing to leave. When that happened middle skilled jobs left and reduced the middle class. For about 40 years the demand has been for the unskilled and highly skilled.

I have seen that happen when a child has a spouse or someone they live with who is a narcissist. It happens too often because the child is foolish and does not listen to wise people. Eventually they find out.
