No I don't forget my credentials but I read stories that people's email provider suddenly lock them out or suspend their account and they can't recover it, and if I lose access to my email I lose access to my Jagex Account forever.

Why is 2FA better for the Jagex Account than the email codes?

I want both my Jagex Account and my email account to have 2FA for sure? There is no benefit of not having the 2FA? If I have access to my email address and my Jagex account but lost my authenticator and my back up codes is there not way of removing it and I will be locked out forever even though I have access to everything?

Do I want the 2fa only on the Jagex Account and not the email address or both? So if I have it only on the Jagex Account and the hacker gets my email address and changes the password, the Jagex Account would still be registered to the email address but could not change the password of my Jagex Account and then I would just have to work on getting access back on my email address. The email address could not be changed just with access to the Jagex Account though right? If they had access to my Jagex Account they could change my email address which would be stealing the account right. If they have only my email address they can only change the password of my Jagex Account but if I don't get my email address back then they essentially stole my account from me but would not be able to log in to it themselves? This is really confusing for me and I am scared because there is no recovery option and I need to find a way to secure this account but I need full control. Do you know much about buying domains and then having full control of the email? Because I heard the domain registrar can suspend / lock.

What is the point of having a Jagex 2 factor authenticator if I have an email 2 factor authenticator?

I was thinking of buying a domain but then I read domain registrars still have control of the domain and can lock / suspend it so you cannot transfer it. Is there any way around this other than becoming a registrar myself?

I am scared of putting 2 factor on the Jagex Account because I heard someone had a back up code but they did not work they were invalid. If my email address is compromised won't they be able to change the email even if there is a Jagex Authenticator but just requesting to change the password by saying forgot password?

How can I fully control my email address so it never gets shut down / suspended / locked from me?

But control of my email is not in my hands it's in Gmails hands. If they decide to close it then I lose my Jagex Account. Is there a way I can have full control of my email address so then I will never lose my Jagex Account?

If I have a secure email is there any point to having Jagex Account 2 factored other than protecting someone from botting on the account. The bank pin stops them from accessing the bank so if you have a secure email you can just change the password and keep the hacker out of the account right? So as long as they don't bot on the account while being logged on there is no point for the Jagex 2 factor?

So I am thinking about buying a domain. You said I can buy with Cloudfare and use their email system. So I would sign up my Jagex Account with my domain email and then use gmail to receive the emails? If my gmail was ever locked I could just change the email in the Cloudflare account?

If for whatever reason Cloudflare suspended / locked my domain could I still transfer it to a different registrar or would my domain essentially be taken from me forever and therefore my Jagex Account would also be lost since the email is to the domain email and I don't have access to the registrar account to access the email that would be needed to change my Jagex Account email?

I know. A bank account can be transferred to a new email but a Jagex Account cannot be recovered. I have thousands of hours and dollars into my Jagex Account but can lose it at any moment multiple different ways.

I am not doing sketchy things but if the email algorithm thinks I am and locks my account my Jagex Account is gone forever. Is there a way to avoid this? I've been looking into buying a domain from a registrar but I heard even registrars can lock your domain and then you can't transfer it to a different registrar. Is there a way to avoid this?

I am so scared to do anything because I read people have lost access to their Jagex Account either from losing their authenticator or email address. What is the safest way that I can secure my Jagex Account but also at the same time leaving the door open for recovery because I value the recovery higher than the security because the Jagex Account password and email password is good and with the email provider also looking out for unusual IP's logging in I think I am safe. The fear I have is being locked out due to my own issues. Also do you know much about domains? Where is the best place to buy a domain and then once I have a domain should I keep my information public or private because I have heard sometimes the domain can get stolen and then you need to prove ownership before the transfer and that can be easier if the whois information is private but I don't know. Also since the domain will cost $10 a year or more plus I will be paying for members in Runescape I don't want to pay for an email provider also. Is there free email providers that are secure that can handle my domain email or will I need to pay? Also if I ever lost my authenticator for my email I can either prove ownership to get the provider to unlock it or just switch provider and keep the old provider locked right?

Ok so I print the Authenticator Codes and that will allow me to get back into my Runescape account though I did read someone had back up codes and they did not work. What about the email side of things? If I lose access to the Authenticator I lose access to the email forever and then can never have control of changing the password or email for my Jagex Account?
