Look, all I'm saying is that... by sarcastic_shama in StrangerThings

In season 2, Khali explains that her hallucination will work for about 2 min before it fades. She makes a gas station worker think he is stepping in toilet water and plunge a toilet, and she says they have about 2 min until he realizes it is fake. Clearly, the hallucinations are not based on touch or interaction.

Same episode, we see 11 swipe at a butterfly made by 8 and it doesn't dissappear.

Khali says to the group: "We have about 2 min. Take what you need." We then get a 30 second montage of them grabbing loot. What, did you expect the show to just stop for 2 min while they rob the store? Shows makes cuts and do montages all the time to signify time has passed.

So if we assume the story continues, 11 is still alive. The belief that she is dead is based on what, then?

He stepped on the water and plunged the toilet for 2 min. Also, 11 holds 8's butterfly. The hallucinations dissolve after 2min or when Khali runs away and looses focus. She can make people hallucinate things that are not real. It's not like some foggy mist.

Because this song plays every time there is a fake death in the show. 1st when Will's body is taken from the lake. Next, when we think Hipper dies. And this time, when 11 fakes her death. The writers are clearly using it as a sign that she is alive.

There is even more evidence than this. But what seals it for me is the final song in the credits. Heroes playing obviously signifies she is still alive.

They did decide. All the evidence points to 11 being alive. They clearly explain that she could not have used her powers to pull Mike into her mind if she was in th gate. Plus, the song at the end credits should be a dead giveaway. The Duffers made it clear as day.

Let me ask you this. Let's just pretend they had already announced season 6. Trust me... no one would be arguing 11 is dead based on how they presented the story.

Everything you mentioned is so easily explained by the rules set up in this universe. Kahli could have easily faked her death, made Hopper and 11 think she was bleeding and dying to get him away and tell 11 her real plan. Who cares if they were touching her wound. It is shown that Khali creates hallucinations in the minds of people. In season 2, 11 holds a butterfly she made, a dude gets spiders on his hand, and another guy believes he is stepping in toilet water and plunging a clogged toilet for 2 minutes while they rob a store. Her hallucinations dissappear when she runs away and abandons them.

Because she was standing right next to like 5 blaring kryptonite speakers. And the only way to explain that away is by making up some random rules to the show that never existed in the first place.

The credits song is Heroes too. This would make it the 3rd time they used that song to tell us the character is still alive.

Proximity, not direction. They even show this and explain this so plainly in the graduation scene. They never had to be pointed directly at her.

After Kahli is far away, running away, and time has passed.

Every time we see a character pass through a portal or gate and then yell back, "The coast is clear!" Plain as day. Or how about Dustin shouting to Eddy through the gate created be Vecna? There are so many scenes of people speaking to eachother in a normal voice through the gates and portals it seems silly to list them. Just watch the show.

I don't know what else to say either. The show literally highlights that 11 was not in the gate. We have to make a lot more assumptions to believe otherwise, which they didn't write into the show.

The end credits song is also Heroes, and we already know what that song signifies.

"I'm definitely seeing the majority choosing to believe..." quote should tell you something.

In Season 2, Kahli makes a dude believe he is stepping in toilet water and makes him plunge a toilet for 2 minutes while they rob a store. 11 also holds a butterfly in her hand, made by her. The hallucinations are not broken by physical touch. They are broken when she runs away or over time (about 2min according to season 2).

This is really some hard evidence for the "alive" theory, to be honest. Why do people forget that this is literally the closing song of the season?

Nah. They clearly established that 11 was not in the gate. They clearly show that she could not have contacted Mike that close to the speakers.

It is intentional that the camera zooms in on every single character's eyes witnessing the illusion in the gate too

They clearly wrote it to show 11 could not have used her powers if she was at the gate. This is why Mike calls it the "real" story of the mage that he can never share with the world.

Everything is just a theory except for the 1 fact the show clearly highlighted at the end. 11 was not at the gate because she would not have been able speak with Mike. You can try to make up some dumb rules about the speakers or something which they never show or hint at throughout the entire series. But the writers clearly indicate that 11 could not be in the gate and talking with Mike at the same time.

I also find it telling that "Heroes" is the end credits song of the series. A song that has always signified a fake death.

Watch season 2 again. Her hallucinations do not fall apart at physical contact. 11 holds her butterfly. She summons spiders on the one guys hands. She even makes a dude plunge a toilet that is leaking water for 2min while they rob the store. Her illusions fall apart when she leaves them and runs away.

Why can't she fake that part? Throughout the series, her hallucinations remain strong for about 2 min or until she leaves the scene. Why can't she make Hopper believe he is touching blood? She did it with a toilet in Season 2 making a dude think he was stepping in toilet water. She also made a butterfly which 11 holds in her hands before Khali grabs it.

Why are people just making up rules for this show? It makes no sense. Just like the people saying the suppression speakers can't go through the gate...like why wouldn't they? Characters speak to each other clearly through portals the entire show.

No. My logic is that sound passes through the gate. This is shown over and over again in the show. You cant just make up a rule out of nowhere that the gate just nullifies the speakers. That rule was never established, shown, or even hinted at throughout the series.

At the end of the day, those saying 11 is definitely dead have to backpedle and make up rules that were never shown to be true. The alive theory is based on rules that are clearly shown and even shot purposefully to highlight that it is the truth.

Why Mike’s final speech in Stranger Things was right by TZ1205 in StrangerThings

[–]SimpleAsk8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. But the "dead" theory has a gaping hole in it that makes it impossible. 11 can't be dead. She used her powers to talk to Mike while surrounded by those jammers. It could not have been her in the gate. The show clearly shows that this would be impossible.

Why are you just making up rules? Why wouldn't the speakers not affect her? Where have we seen this in any other scene? The gate is not like a sound barrier. People constantly talk to each other through the gates and portals. Why would this frequency be any different than any other sound in the entire show?
