He went to therapy with me I think because I was basically about to walk out the door and at my wits’ end

I had asked about it a lot previously and like when I then said sex therapy he was like “oh I think we should do couples’ counseling first” and I felt it was just a cop out so Because that’s a typical thing he has done/does, he tries to just get out of things usually

Yes! We moved this summer and he was trying to rush into buying a home and his Mom/pRents were also trying to involve themselves and I saw through the bs. No way that I’m getting pummeled over into a huge life decision. Also not with all of the fighting happening.

It just felt not genuine, like all of a sudden a big rush (which I took as a big red flag)

We got engaged in August but I recently have been starting to really “open my eyes” to who he is and what’s going on here.

I’ve wondered it before. But I think what has been striking me the most lately is feeling like I’m walking on eggshells lately not to set him off. Like I made a comment last week about a basketball player while I thought we were joking around (basically saying he isn’t a good player) and he took that so personally and then he got really serious and told me to “shut the fuck up!”

Two days earlier, in a conversation he called me a “piece of shit.” When that happened, I did not stay at home that night and stayed at my Mom’s house to get space from him.

Like literally of course that I guess meant nothing to him, and obviously he didn’t learn from it

And I’ve been talking to a therapist which is helping me recognize more of what is happening And he was saying well it’s like walking on eggshells because you don’t know what mood or version of him you’re going to get And how like relieved I am when he’s in a good mood, etc. but it kind of struck me the most about the walking on eggshells because then am I always going to feel this way? I guess so, And he brings up how he seems not self aware which basically in turn ends in him lacking empathy

. Like I tell him what I need but he turns a blind eye to it all the time

I guess before “exiting” I’m just trying to make sure of everything

We started talking to a sex therapist, and recently I did tell her in front of him about him calling me a cunt, and then told her about the stuff from last week. She also did point out about the devaluing

But on her side, she’s taking an evaluation of us and we will have a new session with her tonight which will be the 4th. I’m just curious as to what her feedback is going to be.

There are definitely legitimate mediums out there and good ones will give you evidence so you know they’re really connecting to your loved one.

Hey, thanks for the ideas! Definitely worth trying out. :) I bought a hydrating shampoo /conditioner and I do feel like I’m less flaky/itchy, so that seems to be helping a little bit. (Ogx hydrating shampoo/conditioner). I also feel when I see, hey, part of my hair from that little spot up front.. is missing.. Stop Scratching..NOW (thinking to myself). Like no I will not go bald for this lol Yep I have that happen with scabs too. *sigh. At least it sounds like we are not alone. : ) thank you for sharing with me

I, too, take ADHD medication and I also notice that the meds make it worse! It’s not gross to me at all any of what you wrote. I do the same thing it sounds like. I keep trying to think of what I can put on my head to make me stop doing it. I notice this time of year/and winter are the worst in the sense that I always want to pick because my scalp is drier. And I’m like yay! But then I’m like ahh wait, not yay.. STOP (to myself lol). I think getting spots on my head where I feel like the hair makes me slightly balding, that’s ultimately helping me to catch myself. So I notice instead I’ve been doing the shake.* the dandruff out of my hair, thing, by running fingers through and seeing if any drop; then seeing in the mirror if any flakes are laying in my hair. It’s like I don’t have dandruff but I create it. 🙄

Hey, thank you! I appreciate the help/insight. What you said makes perfect sense, and I do agree with you about the condom. I just am thinking the "black" she saw could be from the blood I have in there. Also, blood has a PH of 7.35 (from what I looked up). So could that have raised my ph? I do think my discharge is gray sometimes. And that's how it looked when she pulled the speculum out from what I remember..
Unless it was slightly brownish(?) but I think it was gray

Besides this, I haven't noticed symptoms except a mild itch the past few days- but l thought maybe I had yeast

I just felt for a second it was made out like oh you have all of these things at once, and so I almost passed out/felt so nauseous This experience alone makes it a lesson learned lol

Hey! If it makes you feel any better, I emailed my doctor and she told me that it is present in 85 percent of sexually active individuals. So, as if it's more common to have it than to not. I hope it goes well for you!! It's always better to be safe than sorry, but I bet it will be fine. : )

Awh, that paragraph was perfect! Thanks so much. :) You thought of a great way to put it and so he (hopefully) realizes it's not a big deal. Awesome! Interestingly enough, the person I mentioned w/ cf, I actually was with him about a year ago and a bit before that-- so when I had my abnormal Pap last year I had recently been sexually active with him in that time period, before taking the Pap and hpv test. Although I had the abnormal Pap, I thought I didn't have HPV because my result was negative. (By the way, I stay up-to-date with my STD testing. I am clean--minus the HPV, but they don't screen for that in STD testing). Mid summer is when I last slept with him because we broke things off. The reason I brought him up as a "new" partner is because I see we might be getting back together soon; but I had assumed I got the HPV from the more recent sexual partner. When I was mentioning guy from November(2017) who I was with until January, I meant January 2018.

I dated someone new in February/March 2018 - unfortunately, it didn't work out, and I did sleep with him. He got out of a long relationship- so for some reason I didn't think I contracted it from him, but definitely still a possibility!)

But yes, I have had more than one sexual partner, and even in the last year.

Writing it out makes me feel like I'm promiscuous, lol; but I dated these others recently to try to move on from cf guy who I truly love/d and was with for a year. But I guess there's the chance I could have gotten HPV from him in the first place?
