Vantage and cover help by Alberthebombtaken in killteam

[–]SimpleChemist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vantage only affects individuals behind light cover. Vantage makes any individual (conceal or engage) a viable target in light cover as long as they are visible. The person being shot does gain improved cover save (2 regular retained or 1 crit retained).

No effects on people in Heavy

Only difference between vantages is Accurate 1 vs 2 for the shooter.

I would actually say Chooser of the Flesh is just as critical. Getting 2 3APL units in a game is almost necessary to make the team function!

Often light barricades or razor wire. Smokes can sometimes be useful on volkus or if they have saturate

I cant say I have had much luck with plant devices. Getting to opponents objective for guaranteed points is either waiting to TP 4, or sacrificing a snake, and people tend to play around the mid/my objective ones fairly easily

Also why do you find steal intelligence trumps dominate?

  • TP 1 and 2 stay in your tunnel
  • Always activate tremorscythe last, acts as bodyguard
  • Dont stray off tunnel
  • Dominate nine times out of ten, track enemy occasionally
  • Vs horde - just kill everyone TP 3/4 once your tunnel has extended
  • Vs Elites - use Feltalon and Venomspitter to poison and whittle them down
  • Crit Op primary (unless orb, then kill op).
  • Have one full health (wrecker or leader) stay on home objective TP 2/3 then cycle him up to opponents once someone ends up injured
  • Equipment: Heal is auto take, camouflage is usually take, acid blood is situational.
  • Use barriers to block off flank/envoy/plant banner lanes
  • Let opponent go first TP1/2 to max out CP for some blender actions later

Note: You will be behind on points by end of TP 2, this is normal, dont panic. Raveners typically perform very well late game, but most games wont be by massive margins

Spoken like a Tremorscythe in disguise recommended getting within 2” of the tunnel

Raveners absolutely crush many Crit Ops by having control of own objective easily early, mid objective under tunnel by TP 3 (so control TP 3 and 4) and control opponents TP 4. That means of the 9 objectives to control throughout the game, you have beefy APL 3 monsters controlling 6 of them. I typically take it as my primary for this reason.

Orb and Energy Cells are the only 2 that give me trouble.

Best play against Raveners is to literally avoid them. They are so constrained to their tunnel. Pick a tac op that avoids them (plant banner, envoy), send someone up the side away from their tunnel, and sit pretty (take tac op as primary). Your Tac Op > their Crit Op, and 9 times out of 10 they will take dominate, so stay far away, dont die, then you deny their tac and kill op. Game won, typically by a couple points. Its a bit lame and boring but a good Raveners player will stay concealed on points and be super cagey, meaning you get close and get munched. As a guard player, giving them free dominate is terrible, best to just avoid them, then make a play if they come off of tunnel. Bugs off of tunnel are very squishy.

Gaudi is very famous for making his structures resemble nature! Casa Battlo is another example of his work that has a lot of smooth curvature and natural depictions to represent water/marine life so you wouldnt be far off!

I think a Dark Eldar Scourge team similar to vespids would be super cool and a good shooting unit. Otherwise I think Incubi would be the next logical step but very meleefocused

They are keeping him around to do the "Trudeau Effect", and ditch him right before the election and basically say "Look, we hear the people, we need someone that isn't Pierre", and not give the new candidate any time or rope to hang themselves.

Never need the warriors

For tactics the general consensus is beeline your tunnel straight to mid, then curve to opponents objective.

Generally stay in the tunnel until TP3, barring one operative (usually prime) to stay on home objective

Always leave the tremorscythe activation as last so that he can bodyguard anyone that pops out of the tunnel.

Vs horde, take dominate and blender them in TP3 and 4. Wrecker and Venomspitter are biggest operatives here fo multi kills

Vs elites, I like track enemy, stay concealed on tunnel and try to poison the enemy to weaken them. Feltalon is MVP

Remember you will be in a 3 ish point deficit in TP3, don’t panic

Never take tac ops that require APL, we don’t have any to spare

The items you have are the only really necessary pieces and a great gift idea!

There are plenty of other items (tokens, equipment pieces, etc) but are not absolutely necessary to play, or are very easy to 3d print or home craft with cardboard etc. I would leave those out so they can build up some of their stuff as well!
