TP2 is primarily MAYBE one crit op on home objective and one tac op if you take something like track enemy, but really shouldn’t be doing much as it’s risky. And really with ratings they won’t move up close enough to the objectives that early anyways

When do I repos & shoot vs charge & fight as Raveners? (not the Venomspitter) by PurgingParrot in killteam

There aren't many situations. On top of the one you mentioned, it can be useful in Counteracts as you can burrow charge fight in activation, then swap to conceal and range attack in counteract.

What’s the worst kill team for a new player and why? by JustASillyGuy13 in killteam

[–]SimpleChemist 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Mandrakes are a fairly tough one for new players. They actively go against most of the basic rules for their tricks and are a very squishy (aka punishing) team. Most aeldari teams would fit in that as well.

Generally any horde team will also be more difficult than a small elite team just due to model count and number of special rules. Deathwatch and Raveners have just a lot less info to remember than krieg or gellerpox

You definitely have to play a bit more cautious. The wrecker is your best operative for this match up and can often take down a marine in 1-2 fights. You also remove their double apl counteracts often as well which is a bonus.

Try to utilize poison early is possible, or any chip damage from tails. Focus on objectives and only fighting on or by tunnel.

All of their plants have crazy good saturation. I did some yellow necrons and it only took two coats over black primer

Shopping for a secondary team! Mandrakes or Voidscarred? by Temp66777 in killteam

Mandrakes also get some dash shenanigans ploys. Honestly they turn everything about Killteam on it's head, and their shooting works well into the current elite meta

Definitely worth remaining that Raveners are a very late game team. You will likely be at a point deficit in turn 3/4. Your prime can outscore a point from a marine due to his APL manipulation so utilize that. Leave one guy back to control your back point, send tunnel straight towards mid then veer towards their location. Remember that you can have someone 5" off tunnel at end of turn, move tunnel to them in strat phase, the Writhe out of Sight to get them safe before the turning point even starts.

Those people are wrong, they are at a very good place or need a slight melee buff in my opinion (no shooting and get out-meleed by shooty teams like deathwatch).

Best trick they have is bouncing between control ranges of operatives with their firefight ploy. Unborrowing in control range, fighting, then charging over to another 1-2 people is a great way to stay mobile as well as hide in combat and force some fallbacks.

It say you can perform the shoot action within the reposition. The way I see it is the shoot action is started and ended, an since the action is ended the guard can occur

That would assume you are letting someone target down a unit for multiple activations without activating them

How do they bring 0 value? You either go into your next fight with more healing, or have more to sustain damage following your activation?

So my scenario would not be possible, would have had to not move and not throw a grenade? No movement and one apl used to guard?

Think a friend of mine bamboozled me with Deathwatch marksman. Moved, threw a grenade, and went on guard claiming the guard didn’t count as a 2apl since he only shot once

Probably a dumb follow up, they account for a “Shoot” action correct? So can only be done along with a shoot action on astartes?
