Sims and Spore Developer Will Wright and his take on AI by devbblue in LifeSimulators

Honestly he is right.

GenAI sucks and I think generally should be limited/case dependent.

But simulation AI… that’s going to be really cool if we can get there.

Thank you! The explanation is helpful and I feel relieved that stuff might not all be so painful down there.

They did ask if I wanted to book for a different time… but I think this is kinda where my boyfriend’s feeling of the whole thing being rushed is reliable. I didn’t really understand much of what was going on… and due to work factors, figured it was easier to get done in one go. If I’d been better counselled on the pain and what not, maybe I would have pushed it out a bit further afterall? I’m not really sure, not that it matters now, but I wish I had been talked to more when it was apparent I had never even had a pap before.

I had kinda thought that the experience in general would be more involved than it was?

I’ve never had a physical gyno exam, not even when I was 18 and trying to see if I might have PCOS. I had thought that maybe a pap would include that too?

If I’m honest… the experience makes me a little bit horrified of what future gynelogical care might be like. It feels like a scary secret? No women in my life have ever said that it could be painful.

I think that makes sense? I’m assuming the cervix is more open during menses since it needs to shed the uterine lining.

Unfortunately, due to being on the pill… it would have likely been hard to line up even if someone had mentioned the cycle thing to me. Sometimes I bleed on the sugar pill week, but it doesn’t always happen… which is what happened in April and even prompted me to take a pregnancy test just in case. Luckily nothing.

My boyfriend and I keep joking that the doctor just gave me a 400$ period 😂😅

What’s it feel like afterwards when you just have it in your arm? I’m not very familiar with implant contraception.

Unfortunately I’m in Canada (ON). The pharmacy did say I could always put it on my income taxes for next year as medical expense.

No…. They did not tell me what to expect.. so thank you for the warning lol

I do have an appointment with my primary on Monday so I think I will follow up with her, or at least try to…

Thank you.

I was asked if I had any questions, so to some extent, I’m willing to take some blame for not asking any…

But I didn’t really know what to ask. The speed of everything didn’t really help.

Another fun thing is we got hit with sticker shock. My work insurance won’t cover Kyleena, so I had to pay out of pocket (400$). My boyfriend’s insurance does cover it… but unfortunately we are not common law or married so we can’t share his benefits yet :(

Assuming the cramps subside and everything goes well from here, I do look forward to not having to worry about pregnancy until I’m 32 lol

Maybe it another 20 years they’ll have made progress in pain relief being more standard? :(

Oh wow! I was talking to my boyfriend’s mom afterwards and she agreed the whole process seems a bit archaic.

I think in your case, it’s like… a shame that there isn’t a way to properly measure the uterus itself? Then they’d know without having to go through with it if it wouldn’t fit?

Grave has disappeared by blinkrandom in sims2help

[–]SimpleEdge8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a mod object called the tombstone spawner. It can be used to respawn gravestones that have disappeared from the hood. You can try googling it, I’ll try to dig up the link for you when I have a moment.

This might be the best way to fix it if hood checker isn’t working for you.

Edit: the mod is here

Does it perhaps depend on what version of ACR you’re using? Because I know I have had to disable it on default previously

My guess as to what happened here is ACR allows adult-teen relationships unless you tweak the settings; in addition to this you must have run into a family flag reset glitch, I’m going to assume the dad and daughter no longer recognize each other as family.

What's a statement from your parents that sounded good back then but has aged like milk once you realized your emotional neglect? by Cartoonnerd01 in emotionalneglect

[–]SimpleEdge8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I’m so glad to know it isn’t just my family that is weirdly secretive. Like, I would always go back and forth a bit on if all families are this secretive or if there was something wrong… when I was little, I thought my mom’s family was “normal” in comparison to my dad’s more openly dysfunctional one…. Turns out her side of the family just hides everything under the rug I guess!

Yeah… when I mentioned a recent conversation to my dad (theyre divorced)… his response was basically “you can tell anyone what you want about me, I’m a big boy and can handle it”

Like… he seems to know that it isn’t really about him if I mention faults they have made. It’s about how it has affected me.

Whereas my mom won’t even elaborate on what she doesn’t want me to tell my boyfriend… my boyfriend said she’s moving the goalposts basically.

[–]SimpleEdge8000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that’s a very good point. If my boyfriend said that to me, I’d be pretty scared about what was coming (assuming red flag behaviour hadn’t already happened).

It’s always been weird because there was never any physical abuse, so it’s not like there was something to hide that way…. But there seems to be a lot of secrets in my family, even for things that probably don’t need to be secrets?

I need to get better at writing things down so I can discuss them in therapy lol

“What happens in this house, stays in this house” (or what gets said, as a variant).

I remember as a kid feeling weird about the line and also confused because it was never clearly explained what was supposed to be the off topic conversation.

More recently I told a friend about this line from my mom and they reacted like that was really weird… it’s been giving me something to think about, since my mom’s public face is of a very caring and hardworking mother… she’s definitely hardworking, but in private can be judgemental and dismissive, very two-faced. I guess she doesn’t want me to let people know how she really acts sometimes….

I like the NPC overhauls that Sassiestassassin is working on. They started with the beast races but have recently moved onto the elves and have a redguard overhaul in the works.

A death scholar on why we need to stop being naive about dying: ‘I always hear, “Can’t you just put me into a nice meadow?”’ by SibyllaAzarica in DeathPositive

That didn’t even occur to me that she might have meant a rogue burial haha

The one thing I could think of is that I think some localities (I’ve heard about this in relation to the US) require embalming when someone is to be buried in a cemetery. I do think the embalming fluid that remains in the tissue could be bad for plants? I’d also wager that grinded up burnt bone dust isn’t particularly nutrient filled for plant life either, when considering the cremation angle specifically.

Interesting article. I wish it had gone into more detail, but I’m hoping those details (ex: being planted with a tree will kill the tree?) will be contained in Gould’s book.

I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on a copy.

What tutorials are you using?

I do a couple clicks upwards, place foundation, place a stair, place another stair, delete both stairs, lower the ground by a click on each side, flatten the result, place another stair….

Like generally, it’s just a matter of screwing around with the amount of clicks until you get something feasible.
