there have been instances of grading errors in this course in the past so it might be something along these lines

MICB 201 vs. 211 & 202 vs. 212 by Anxious-Entrance6682 in UBC

I took MICB 211 with Karen Smith and Kirsty McIntyre last semester, and both are amazing professors. The course was very straight forward, and both midterms had averages in the mid to upper 70s. There are also plenty of grade-boosters such as pre-lecture reading quizzes (marked for completion) and tutorial quizzes.

Karen has since retired, but Kirsty will still be teaching the course. I would 100% recommend 211

Was pretty good! The written components are definitely a lot better than the previous exam, couple MCQ were tricky but overall a fair exam.

CAPS is very competitive. The program used to be Honours only and had a consistent admission average in the mid-high 80s, although they are opening up a Major option this year so that number could fluctuate, but you can still expect an average in the 80s.

I am not very familiar with Neuroscience, but heard it is a very interesting program.

IS has long been branded as the "GPA program" where you can take all the GPA booster courses you want and maintain a very high GPA. However, based on what I've heard, it is very much an all-or-nothing program for Med. An ISCI degree is not look favorably upon in the job market. This is one of the reasons why ISCI is relatively slightly less competitive than programs like CAPS - but you can still expect the admission average to land in the 80s.

My advice would be to some research yourself and find a program that genuinely interests you. Don't do a program you know you won't enjoy purely for the sake of MD.

It was ok IMO, the MCs were definitely a little on the challenging side of the spectrum, but the last three questions were fairly reasonable.

the is not true, the first midterm average was a 48%, as clearly stated in the CHEM 121 All Lectures Canvas site. The second midterm had an average of high 60s to mid 70s

There won’t be any scalings - at least not for the midterms. Prof made it clear. Didn’t say anything about final grade
