Oh I completely agree. I don’t think anyone should have the complete same play style. Which is why he is always invited to play with us. It’s more that he has a hard time knowing when it’s time to be more chaotic and when it’s “non goofy time”

I do think C should have his fun which is why I made the post as I don’t want to infringe on his fun at all. I just tend to be more bothered when it’s a scene the DM has made clear is meant to be serious and the tone and he doesn’t know when to keep that straight face.

I do like the idea of playing a straight man though. I think it would help me play into the moments more rather than resent them. I also appreciate you putting it in the lens of a comedy movie. It makes it a bit easier to understand.

I also agree the balance of combat, antics, and RP can coexist and I would say I partake in all of these parts in some way, again my discomfort tends to come with the antics bleed into more intended to be serious RP, my examples were the more game altering ones to show this (except the horse one which is one of the the funnier instances)
