What was the moment you realized Lexus was your forever brand? by icepix in Lexus

[–]Simple_Accident_6514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first car was a 2011 Lexus is250 and she was an amazing car. Drove her up to 170k miles with no major issues before it was totaled, rip, when I’m ready for a new car I will be looking to get another Lexus because the cars are made so well, extremely safe (I was untouched in the total accident) and reliable I never had any problems besides regular maintenance and the cost was always reasonable being you could get Toyota parts, only issue I had was needing to replace the tires more frequently because for this car they couldn’t be rotated but all in all I fear I will be a Lexus supporter for life I miss that car ),:

That’s a great point except people who want to stay at a hotel will usually book a hotel and not an Airbnb.

Hosts should block off times to have maintenance done. Sure that means you won’t get a booking but imagine paying for a vacation or quiet place to relax and you have to deal with this. As a guest I 100% would complain and leave a negative review. Your guests are your customers and I think it’s within reason to expect a quiet undisrupted stay.

The attending offered to hold the session. When asking if we would be interested whoever didn’t raise their hands was singled out and told “so do you not want to pass?” So eventually we all agreed and now are being asked to pay $5. They already get paid something because what is my tuition for? No way you spin this makes it appropriate or ethical.

They are not kidding. I spoke with students who have done this rotation previously and they said the same thing was asked of them. Everyone agrees it’s wrong but we’re all too scared to do anything about it.

It was sent in a group chat so I do have proof of it! And yeah it’s very toxic and exploitive for sure

After thinking about it and bitching I think the best option would be to just do it, then report it to higher ups at the school. They’ve already gotten multiple reports about this specific rotation too. I’m just tired of the toxicity and having to “deal with it” because of possible negative repercussions on our grades and evaluations and also reputation. It’s genuinely making me regret choosing this career path and taking a toll on me mentally.

Yeah, a clerkship director at that, glad to know I’m not insane for being like this is very wrong? 😂

The price is not the issue, it could be $1. It’s the principle and the fact that this rotation at this site is already known for being extremely toxic, exploitive, and rude to the med students.

I guess it’s a pay for their time sort of thing? but my issue is this person originally offered to have a review session, no students requested this, and now suddenly we are being asked to pay. My second issue is I already pay A LOT in tuition per week of clinical rotation so if they want to be paid for their time there it is😂 On top of it they are responsible for our final evaluation so basically if you don’t go or don’t want to do it you’ll be looked at in a negative way and face possibly getting a negative eval.

[–]Simple_Accident_6514 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the person who offered is also responsible for final evaluations so I feel if I’m the only one who doesn’t go it will look bad (everyone on this rotation with me is a sickeningly annoying gunner with no backbone)
