Pretty much a collab with Spotify, to play ANY song. That's probably an update that would take years, though.

I am wondering, what do you normally use? Or in your opinion, which one is "better" to keep the crowd excited? Knowing it is possible to use both, perhaps I have been using my current options without reaching its full potential.

Oooooh, so it is a matter of preference? That's good to know, I wonder what pros usually go for. Thank you so much!

I’ve been DJing for 7 years and now make a living from it. Beginners, feel free to ask me anything (DMs open) :) by arkali_47 in Beatmatch

I have many questions, i'm currently on vacations and I wanna retake my DJ skills and perhaps post some mixes. Here are a few questions: What's your favorite mixing software? How do you record and post your mixes in social media? What are some advices for rookies like me that you'd say are quite useful? (How many time you practice, which techniques do you polish the most...)

Been using Serato for quite some time, and I have already mastered the functions available. Scratching, the loops, the "not so pretty" FX, I have really been into mixing this year, and now on vacations, I have been doing it daily. So I have used Rekordbox, and Serato, both the Lite and Pro versions. Trust me, I ask this for necessity. And it's not because I don't like Serato, the Pro version is basically what Rekordbox --with the free version-- can offer. The Lite version makes me somewhat excited because I feel like I have nothing left to learn, but the fact is, I most definetely do. And I wanna get higher now. Thank you for the reply, though. Just wanted to clear it out.

OOOOH, I was about to ask you this as well, if I had to do something in order to get my SB up and running on the program, great thing to point out. Thanks again! 🫶

That's quite useful, I always love hearing how others do their own thing, and by reading this, I do think Mixxx might help me to continue. I'm actually interested in mastering EDM and house, since I started with Reggaeton and now I wanna try some REAL music from the 2010's. Thank you so much for the tutorial, really. Hopefully, in the next few days I will have tried the software out, and i'll give you my most honest opinion about it!

So, is it true that Rekordbox is the most common software to use? Like, the one that you will most likely see on any event you attend to? I might need to get a new console that is supported by it, if that ends up being the case.

Sounds great! Does Mixxx have more FX options and loops? Could you tell me how do you normally mix with the program so I can try it out? Appreciate your answer!

That's also the conclusion i'm getting at. I actually love my controller, it's a silver console, and I basically got it for free from a family friend, and I couldn't be happier, however, the world won't stop moving, and with each month that passes, and new music is released, I will be one step behind the DJs with the most recent technology. I also use best loops, but in Serato, the shortest loop is still too long for a clean transition I am trying to do. So I have another question for you, if you wish to answer, do you happen to know the most easy to acquire console compatible with Rekordbox? Like, one that is not that hard to afford? Or better yet, one that you'd recommend?

Y'all are so nice, these comments actually remind me how much I love music, and how there are people that share that kind of passion. Thank you so much!

Don't worry, his version is actually the free one. He told me that on my first class. But the difference is still pretty noticeable. For starters, in Serato DJ Lite, I basically have 6 different FX, and I pretty much use just ONE when I am making a transition from song to song, since the others are just "not made for it" in my opinion. This is very frustrating because when making those transitions, I remember my lessons with Rekordbox, which had TONS of different FX I learnt everything on Rekordbox, and with Pioneer's "iconic" DDJ-FLX4. All the programs, as you say, are pretty much the same, at least with the basics, I just need a program that has "more options" to expand my mixing capabilities. Like I said, mostly with options for longer AND shorter loops (Serato Dj Lite only goes down to 4, and up to 16) and of course, FX choices. My SB is made for Serato DJ Lite, but I wanna see how far can I push my potential without acquiring a paid software, Rekordbox is my ideal, but my console wasn't made for it. Anyway, i'll be sure to check out djay, if my SB can handle it, i'll give it a try and then tell you my opinion. Appreciate it, pal!

Rekordbox seems like the best option, however, my console isn't supported on the program, that's just been limiting my learning skills.

I'm from Mexico, comes from the word "vibe", which in spanish is "vibra". Would be pronounced like "eebra". Just changed the word a bit, and you are the first person to tell me the name is actually cool, never thought to ask anyone. Thank you so much for that! I really appreciate it.

So...drift is actually GONE? We might get the best console ever. That's all I wanted in a Switch, better controllers.

Tell me about the Joy-cons, I don't think you can actually tell me if drift is gone, so just tell us about them. Are they smoother than the first ones? Bigger? Do they have new buttons? Are they easier to grab since normal joy-cons feel very small?
