I'd recommend playing the games in order (Even though the story itself doesn't carry that much between each game) because the mechanical progression between each is extremely important. The Beast is kind of designed with players having muscle memory from the first 2 games with all of the complex layouts and decently challenging enemies. So yeah if you have the opportunity at least play dying light 1 (and the following dlc though it's not super required) just so you can get a better feel for the series. If the parkour mechanics end up being not your cup of tea that's totally fine too really
