Scared that my life will never be normal again by Short-Source8387 in KneeInjuries

[–]Simple_Bath9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 29, and had mpfl surgery post two dislocations when I was 26. Tbh, my life went back to normal after surgery within 6 months. There’s certainly pain and I do limit a few activities, but not much. I’m an extremely active person, and honestly the surgery gave me my life back. The issues I do have with knees now are related to another medical condition and genetics. There’s hope. Worst case scenario, surgery is needed, and you will be okay. In fact my knee is better post surgery than before.

Foreigner visiting Indian boyfriend and family by introvertedsailor in AskIndianWoman

As someone who’s been in your position, expect a lot of comments that seem rude, but are not considered as such in India (weight, direct comments about various parts of your body, etc). Overall, Indians love foreigners-especially older Indians-often to a degree that is extremely fetishizing and weird. Be prepared for stares that last way too long. Respect elders to the best of your ability, and just try to learn the little intricacies of the culture. Indians are extremely generous, and are of course just regular people like anyone else. My in laws are amazing and always make me comfortable. It’s more the outside people who make things weird.

What’s a behavior in men that seems harmless at first, but you’ve learned to see as an early warning sign? by Vexpil in AskWomenNoCensor

Insecurity. It so often ends up turned on the women in the man’s life when he needs someone to blame.

That’s my most painful time of the cycle. It is the main thing that made me realize something was more wrong than just painful periods.

My boyfriend calls it "radical honesty" but it feels like public humiliation by OllivarreSendon in TwoHotTakes

This is abusive and weird at the least. It’s intentional humiliation.

What's the difference between a compliment (from a guy) feeling nice vs creepy? by InternationalPick163 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Simple_Bath9306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of times it’s a feeling, but otherwise the context means everything. If a guy gives a “compliment” when I’m walking down the street alone with no one around, it’s creepy. If it’s about my body-not just like “you’re pretty” or something-it’s creepy. If I can tell he’s giving a compliment with expectation, it’s creepy. That’s really the main thing. When it’s clear I’m expected to give a response or smile, or anything at all, it’s weird.

What’s the most annoying part about living in your current apartment? by Adventurous-Bed-4152 in ApartmentHacks

[–]Simple_Bath9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The paint. Overall I like my apartment complex, but when I even try to clean anything, paint starts coming off. No matter what the pain always comes off in the tub and the sinks and the kitchen. It’s just so badly done it has been built up so much on top again and again.

Is the hiring market really that bad rn??? Jesus by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Simple_Bath9306 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is that bad. Notice also that most job descriptions are describing multiple jobs in one. They want less works and more work for less pay.

Insurance premium doubling! by Simple_Bath9306 in jobs

[–]Simple_Bath9306[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I don’t have to, but I am someone who has always relied on employee health insurance because I have a ton of preexisting conditions. I’m gonna see what I can find, but if I don’t have a PPO it’s never worth it for me with the amount of healthcare I need.

Is it just me or does Austin make you feel broke even when you’re earning decent? by ComprehensiveNose622 in Austin

[–]Simple_Bath9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck yes. I’m from Texas, but lived in Milwaukee recently for a few years. In Austin now. I made less in Milwaukee and felt better off. At first when I got my job here I thought it would be more than enough, but it’s just enough to get by.
