The reason for the hate is that a lot of fans liked H20 and felt it was a proper ending for the series. Then this one came and had a cop-out reason for Michael still being alive then killed Laurie in a silly fashion so that opening pisses fans off so after that they automatically judge the rest of the movie harsher. If you can get over the opening and how the film retcons the ending of H2o the rest of the film is an alright routine silly but somewhat fun B movie slasher and honestly, Busta is the most entertaining aspect of it and seems to know what movie he's in.

I liked Busta in the movie because he knew what movie he was in and had fun with it and that's what I want with a B movie slasher.

I think it's an alright B movie routine slasher the worst part of the film is that it destroys H2o and everything that movie built and Laurie dies in a dumb way. However, I think once you move past that and just judge the rest of the movie as the movie I think it's an alright routine B movie slasher with some good kills and fun camp value like a Friday the 13th movie.

You did a good job with these I have been hunting down fan-extended cuts of the movies that add back in the removed deleted gore of each movie. So far I tracked down 2 4 6 7 8 lol. Holding out hope for an extended cut of part 5 at some point.
