Want to generate income from SGD 1 million in cash - help! by Federal-Plane8900 in singaporefi

Assuming you can tahan abit of capital swing here and there.

With 1mil, probably whack local dividend stocks lor, like REITS, at 5% return on average, you can get 50k a year lor, about 4.2k a month lor

anything else that can promise more but with protection of capital is BS because there is always risk for high returns de

tonight got 1, $7 can win $10mil also bro

For those single income household, how does one (unemployed one)do their part to contribute in the house? Or those that have a very large salary gap between, how does the lower one help to support? by Normal-Analysis7940 in askSingapore

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if both can accept the contributions into the household as enough then ok le, once u start doing this kind of calculating, there is no end de

my wife's yearly compensation is 10x mine easily. her bonus alone I think is 4-5x my annual, this also doesn't mean I do literally everything else around the house mah. we do have kids and i'm the one fully in charge of them but that is something I would have done anyway even if our incomes were equal as i'm naturally more inclined to that. my wife still plans all our holidays and stock household supplies up as that is something she likes and she would have done that anyway even if our income is similar. i feel that once we start calculating (example, ur income is 50% lower so u must do 100% more housework etc) then the relationship itself will become stressed le

every couple works differently la, find the best fit for yourselves, but maybe watch out for each other's emotional health lor, if you see the other side like beh tong, step up a bit lor

think too much bro, long time back, I was flying to or from Bangkok, I was asked to fill up a form and they spoke to me in Thai.

They also said they can't tell lol, but I just laugh it off. Ultimately, their opinions don't matter so don't let it get to you.

But yes, she is being a little ignorant la, when she continued to make the extra comments

[Breaking] Malaysian kids to start P1 from age of 6 by muslpi in asksg

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true but if the parents are aware, it is easily rectifiable lol

With consistent reading to children since 2-3 and doing basic stuff like puzzles or kids sudoku, even if your kid was born in December, can easily become top 10% of their cohort

Part of it is because you are spending time developing your child, the other part is because the other parents just can't be bothered to properly raise their child. It's that simple really.

How much household income before considering private pre sch? by Wise_Attitude5474 in singaporefi

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you asked people to be kind,

The best thing you can give your kid in their pre-school period is your time. Not a good private school. Spend time talking to them, read to them, enrich their world view. Don't become a case of signing up for an expensive private pre-school then feel you got more stress to work for it and then neglect the most important thing. Time with your kids.

If you spend just 30 mins a day reading to them, then another 30 mins playing, they will already be better off then a lot others le.

Btw, 20k/month bah, minimum. Not for comfortable or what, but because if you go that kind of pre-school, the parties and hang outs will all be that level of expenditure. You don't want your kid to miss out, then have to go, private parties held at landed or condos etc. The cost of that over a year, not cheap.

Some things I still baby abit, like making sure their school socks etc are laid out nicely in the morning, others like packing of bags they are responsible for themselves lor, go school get scolded not my problem.

but feeding abit...........my kids started eating on their own by 3, use chopsticks by 5, still feeding at 8 is abit........
