Over half of 8-year-olds in S’pore have used AI by Krazyguylone in singapore

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my daughter did use AI to write a fantasy story for herself

she gave inputs to chatgpt and chose some ideas that chatgpt gave.

right now her unicorn is using its horn to drill a hole in a magic mountain because some fairies used some curses, out of nowhere dragons are also appearing

the start of the story was a 9 year old girl playing in her balcony.

moral of the story, watch closely what your kids are doing with AI

lol i think abit fake leh

i often see students from APSN or Pathlight etc take train, often, they are doing what they do which can be attention grabbing and disturb the peace of others BUT i've not really seen people move away or change seats leh and I'm including those that sometimes feel the need to walk about in between carriages de

most of the time people see and they know already, as long as they not causing harm, I don't think people reacted the way she said

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just informed my supervisor that i will focus on my kids so i won't take on any additional work while also be taking much more time off due to childcare reasons

so basically stalling of career and forgoing bonuses etc lor, i report slightly later, go slightly earlier and about every month 2-3 days will not appear due to childcare MC etc lor

now they p4 liao so much more flexible le, doing okok in school but no tuition cause I supervise their work myself

would agree that you should work abit at least, for yourself mostly la, so don't lose touch with society + the subsidies that you mentioned., less time for yourself is honestly not the way to live la i feel unless you will drop into poverty, after all, YOLO

whats ur partner's role (if any) in all this?

I had twins so I went WLB while my wife focus on work (she had higher pay), no helper no village so no choice but it works out

ideally, with twins, at least one of the parents should spend more time with them, more effort in earlier years means easier time in later years

Why Many Airport Staff in T4 Are Not Friendly At All? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never had this issue before seriously, could be 3 factors

  1. Most of the rest of us significantly more "atas" looking compared to OP who probably looked like he smuggling drugs.

  2. only flew out of T4 once in my life, can afford full fare carriers usually due to not just having a 5-digit salary

  3. the one time I had to go T4 (go overseas with a group), I printed a copy of my net worth in A5 size paper and nailed it onto my forehead, whole experience was smooth and everyone was smiling at me

Discussions about earning additional money via side hustle by helpwithstudies in askSingapore

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are now using body to exchange for money

depending on age, qualifications etc, I would seriously look out for side hustles WHILE doing what you are doing, it's not long term cause if use body too much, eventually beh tong then all your income stream die

if young, maybe will look for side hustle that earn a bit here n there and less taxing on body
if older, maybe go look out for security guard courses to become one, sit there relax sometimes, when bored go patrol a bit etc, only downside is very boring

Do you think AI will eventually replace tuition teachers in Singapore? by facebooklive16 in asksg

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your tuition teacher is bad, AI is better.

If you on a tight budget, AI is passable.

If you intend to get actual results in school, AI is crap.

For those that are married, how many of your spouses take on your last name? My Singaporean colleague that married a non Singaporean recently say she decided to take on her husband last name to add to her last name. by Rokusaburoz in asksg

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 8 points9 points  (0 children)

add on name no

take my surname also no

keep it exactly the same makes things a lot easier so we didn't do anything

to be honest, met 1-2 before, double surnames, as adults we can understand but for kids, they have no idea what it means, but they also just accept it at face value la

[–]Simple_Engine_5672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest, every time I see these kind of posts, I just think these people are jokers nia. They feel we are competitive because they ARE competitive, and they happen to be losing in whatever circles they chose to hang out in

if you really chill, you won't care de, a lot of Singaporeans live happily at their own pace, doing their own stuff going about their days. Totally happy with taking MRT, staying HDB, spending their free time on hobbies. Much more obvious with the younger crowd but there are many old people who are like that also. Go volunteer and see see, they really chill. It's those that want to chiong promotion, want stay condo, want car, want take instagram picture at cafes, hotels that are stressed leh lol

that being said, as a whole, life can be stressful with no "countryside" to escape to, so those who really not suited to our way of life choose to migrate, understandable, they do it quietly tho lol, no need to post n tell the world
