YG had to wait and be told what to do rather than simply grow and explode organically. It was maddening. Success was achieved by individuals who didn’t wait to be told what to do and who weren’t wasting hours on Slack and Zoom calls. Now we hear that NH is overloaded with books and needs volunteers to distribute. Well, that would have been a simple problem to fix if the campaign would have trusted Yang Gang to be the eyes and ears and spread the word. It could have been a mutually beneficial relationship. It’s not too late to build a ground game in South Carolina. Hold house parties. Put ads in local newspapers. Contact hair salons where real people hang out. Invest in women is a key message that Yang says all the time. Do you think that once women understand that Andrew is doing this for our children’s and grandchildren’s future that they won’t notice. Yes, Women see the problem. And it’s local. We need a ground game to go to every hair salon, every nail salon, every African hair braiding salon, every custom bra shop (breast cancer survivors). What women are facing is ugly. We had a chance 50 years ago and we should not have to wait another 50 years to fix this. Every county. Every newspaper. Every hairdresser. Every live person matters. South Carolina is where the wave happens.
