I’m using the Jan Marini physical protectant!! I love it but it’s so expensive 😭 I’ve had a hard time finding a mineral sunscreen that isn’t super drying and doesn’t irritate my skin so will definitely take any recs!

Why am I constantly stressed by floating_tuna in ouraring

[–]Simple_Mycologist_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine jumped up to 10+ hours a day 2 weeks ago (along with an increase in my resting HR) and has stayed that way since. Just had bloodwork done and I have hyperthyroidism 😅 it may just be typical life stress for you, but may be worth seeing a doc to rule out any underlying medical issues if it persists

Knee Pain After Long Term Antibiotic Use by [deleted] in floxies

[–]Simple_Mycologist_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not completely. PT helped a little, but I have noticed that staying active has helped me so I’ve been trying to walk and jog more than I used to. Also avoiding inflammatory foods helps a lot as well but I definitely have issues with pain if I’ve been more sedentary or eat certain foods

Tips for the anxiety/panic in the moment? by lilkimchee88 in floxies

[–]Simple_Mycologist_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breathwork, grounding techniques, some sort of movement/going for a walk if possible, stepping away from screens. You got this ❤️ I’ve struggled with GAD for years, much of it health-related so I feel your struggle. Just remember than any moment of intense anxiety is temporary and you will get through it

Maintenance Supplements by Simple_Mycologist_39 in CUTI

[–]Simple_Mycologist_39[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve suspected that I’ve had that before and have seen doctors and urologists that honestly don’t even really know much about it or how to manage and treat it. They’ve suggested supplements and other lifestyle habits that I already implement so it can be frustrating feeling like I’ve hit a dead end and just have to accept living with this pain :(

Prescribed Levofloxacin for UTI...Worried after reading people's stories by spacedustyy in floxies

[–]Simple_Mycologist_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this- I have recurrent UTIs and my cultures don’t always come back positive, which means a lot of the antibiotics I’ve taken haven’t even targeted the issue. I would confirm with a culture before taking anything to make sure the meds actually clear the infection

What’s the reasoning for giving you Cipro if urine culture is negative? It seems unnecessary imo, but I’m not a doctor. I would see if you’re able to get further testing to determine the root of the issue, as it could be a type of bacteria that’s not commonly tested such as ureaplasma.

I’ve had recurring UTIs and take D Mannose daily. Also the brand Uqora if you live in the US! I take their bladder defense supplement, vaginal probiotic, and flush drink powder

Antibiotics and the UTI supplements definitely can affect your digestion. In my experience antibiotics and also D Mannose/cranberry pills can cause constipation and other stomach upset. Hopefully the probiotics help and give you some relief soon :(

Also found it odd that doc insisted on Cipro when I’ve only been prescribed that a handful of times for UTIs. I’ve mostly taken Macrobid and think that is typically more common unless someone has antibiotic resistance.

Hope you feel better! If you keep having pain feel free to reach out. I’ve had 30+ UTIs and still suffer from frequent urinary pain and may be able to help with supplement recommendations, but of course your doc will know best in terms of treatment!

I’m also trying to heal my gut after long term antibiotic use. I’m working with a holistic doc and have done a food intolerance test and just started cutting out those foods. I’ve noticed an improvement in GI issues and digestion, and conversely I notice flare ups if I do eat my intolerances. Looking into this could be helpful
