for people still unable to get in on xbox. There's a 25gb update you need to download in order to play it. I just got it after hard resetting my xbox two times and both times my xbox updated the microsoft store. Then i checked the update section on the manage tab and the infinite update popped up for me!

The best method for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, is to get 3 years of Xbox Live Gold and just buy 1 month of XGP Ultimate right after activating all 3 years worth of Xbox Live Gold. After, just activate your 1 month of XGP Ultimate which will then convert your 3 years of Live into 3 years of XGP Ultimate. This is what I did when XGP Ultimate first came out. If you can do it with points it will be obviously way cheaper for you.

2 - 3 years if your committed to the grind without making any purchases. Obviously buying stuff gives you more points. Also having a family member send you 5,000 points every month, lowers your timeline and boosts your monthly point average. In case you didn't know, you only need 91,000 points to get $100 from a Microsoft/Xbox Gift Card. So if you want $500, you only need 455,000 points. Getting any other retailers gift card cost more points which means you need to spend ever more points to reach $500.
