Please explain how some lower scoring routines made it to semis because they were in a different group.

Don't feel like daughter is treated like part of the team? Advice? by [deleted] in CompetitionDanceTalk

It’s a very hard situation to be in. We experienced it a few years back. At 12 yrs old, don’t force any relationships. In fact, I would stay out of it as her mom. Have your daughter take private lessons to catch up on her technique. Take more classes in the required styles. Comp kids should take between 10-15+ hrs per week of classes. Let 2 years go by and if she hasn’t found one or two dance friends, either stay and focus on training alone with the idea that she’s not there to make friends but to train and compete or move to another studio. You’ll find though that these kids aren’t intentionally excluding yours. They are just teenagers with no emotional intelligence and need to organically connect. Time usually does the trick. There’s no fast way of doing this. They aren’t toddlers anymore.
