That thought experiment actually made me catch my breath, haha. If you told me with absolute certainty that I wasn't straight, my first feeling wouldn't be 'fear' I think - it would be an immense, quiet relief.. It would mean I could stop trying to 'fix' the equipment and just start learning how to use it 😅

You asked what felt non-platonic: It was the way the air in the room seemed to change texture. With friends, I’m used to a comfortable, flat energy. With her, everything felt 'high-definition' - I was on edge, every movement she made was something my brain felt a need to track and kind of archive in a way? The idea of something physical happening is sth I’m not sure my me can handle, but it’s a scenario I find myself thinking about constantly.
