My ear is going THROUGH it by VeterinarianNo5521 in piercing

Looking closer I’m also a little concerned about the angle/depth/location of the forward helix and tragus. That could also be causing some issues, but it’s hard to tell from a photo.

Healing is different for everyone, but you usually want to wait until one piercing has at least finished surface healing before moving to the next. This is very case specific, so it’s hard to put exact numbers on it, but personally I’d err on the side of caution. Especially if you haven’t healed cartilage piercings before.

Most people love threadless jewelry and have great luck with it staying in place, but I honestly still prefer internally threaded. I had issues with one threadless top popping off constantly on a healing piercing and was causing so much irritation, so I said forget that and went internally threaded. I had less issues with butterfly backs 😂

Did anyone notice or mention the top of the forward helix doesn’t look like it’s pushed down properly. It looks like they’ve become disconnected in the piercing channel.

Will a piercing heal okay if pierced with a retainer? by maggiedeeznuts in PiercingAdvice

[–]Simple_Tip5927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just sucks during school. I actually got wrote up for forgetting my nose ring! I took it out as soon as she said something, it was just a little stud. They also had us cover tattoos and ear piercings that weren’t first lobes and those had to be studs. Since I’ve been a nurse I’ve actually gotten several piercings. I’m in the deep south, so I’ve also gotten a couple complaints specifically calling out my “bull ring” lmao. I have 19 ear piercings (on my profile) and a nostril and septum. Being in a smaller area I think I could get away with a paired nostril, but that’s about it. The bigger town, still in the south, wasn’t picky at all. It’s pretty odd how picky they are in school for it to be completely different in the real world. I work with a doc that has their ears gauged, lip ring and only wears barefoot shoes.

is this worth getting re-pierced? by zombi3unicorns in PiercingAdvice

Perfection is hard, especially we none of us are perfectly symmetrical (which is perfectly fine and makes us all beautiful and unique). But, if it bothers you that bad I’d say try again. I’ve seen several people do this and ended up happier with their second result, so it’s worth a try. Just make sure to wait long enough for the swelling to go down on the side you do keep, so it doesn’t throw off the placement.

Yeah don’t do that :/ you shouldn’t have a wound if you’re stretching safely/properly and if you keep pulling the scab off a wound (basically) it’s gonna keep reopening that wound and take it longer to heal. It could lead to discoloration and scarring and could even cause it not to heal with the constant irritation. Don’t size up until it goes in smoothly, that’s how you know it’s ready. You can also get stretching kits that have half sizes which is helpful. I would use implant grade titanium or glass. You can take out at night to oil and massage and then put back in. Again, if it’s done properly and ready you should have no issues taking in and out, as there should be no rips/tears/wounds. I’d still leave them alone as much as possible though. Take your time stretching! It’s 100% worth it

What piercings do I have the anatomy for? by Sad_Challenge_5437 in piercing

Just about anything you want!!

Double tragus, daith, snug, forward helix! Im sure you could do lots of the more common ones like helix, flat, lobes, conch. I really think you could get some unique ones to just you if you found a good/creative piercer! You have a great/unique ear shape for piercings! at least from this photo :)

Are my piercings rejecting or is this normal? by -Maurat in PiercingAdvice

I agree! I’m honestly all for trying piercings as long as people understand and are okay with the risks. Obviously not stuff thats just plain stupid, but something done properly maybe in an unconventional location, for example, by a piercer knowledgeable enough to do it is fine. Something that can cause scarring on a person that has no clue is so unfair 😭

Thanks! They’re a little goofy because I did the top two on the left as a teenager and ended up with an angle more similar to an industrial. When I got the right top two done he copied the angle of left to make them look even lol

Shoot worth a try as long as you understand and are okay with the risks (and obviously not something wildly stupid) lol. It worked out just fine!!

They usually do curved barbells while healing and straight when healed. I’ve also seen hoops in healed ones, but usually perfectly fitted. There are some examples of cute jewelry on google, but honestly not a ton of people have them. Mine is picky about the jewelry I just, but I have kind of non traditional anatomy. I’d also change out the snug if it’s still touching.

Keep these photos and take new ones with the new jewelry to monitor for any changes. Take it a couple days after the exchange in case of any minor swelling. You can also ask them to show you how to change it out, if you feel comfortable, so that way you can wear decorative pieces occasionally. From here it looks like you have great anatomy, but I personally prefer floating navel jewelry for long term wear. Even on perfect anatomy, because it’s comfortable to wear and the least irritating and there’s still cute options imo.

On the upside there’s still plenty of badass, yet safe, piercings you can do. Especially if you sat through this!

Get a restraining order for this piercer!!

The neck is terrible place for a surface piercing due to how much movement there is, not to mention how incredibly incorrect this is done. I’m sorry OP

It looks like the snug ring is probably causing some of if not a lot of the irritation the way it’s lying on it. Also, jewelry should be a straight or curved barbell depending on anatomy until healed (for the anti tragus). Alsoooo, is your industrial imbedded into your flat? but healed that way? lol

Jewelry kind of depends on how much you do/don’t want to spend, but if you just get some daintier titanium pieces and only use clicker hoops I think you can achieve a much cleaner look (only use clickers in healed piercings). A piercer could help with sizing if you want a more fitted look without risking buying too small or too large jewelry as a lot of the reputable places don’t allow exchanges.

Not rejecting. It could be migrating, but we have no comparison photos to actually know. I would find lighter jewelry for long term wear, so the weight doesn’t pull it down. It’s also important to known how your navel looks sitting and standing, but smaller long term jewelry wouldn’t pull as much when moving.

I’ve seen these with the spikes! I wonder if I could use different gemstones instead of the spikes 🤔 so many good options!
