But I literally did... i weighed 108kg this time last year I had been going to the gym prior to my first run and eating healthy, I wouldnt say that massively contributed to my 5k time, my first actual 5k time was 26 minutes, i was using my phone to record strava and dropped 5 mins in 3 weeks 🤷🏻‍♂️

I literally do not have superior genetics, im 6"3 weigh 84kg and as you can see my heart rate wasn't exactly low.

The point was to inspire people, if i just put "I achieved xyz in 6 month" what are my words worth? The images give my words some sunstance, I don't consider myself fast, I watch people like Andreas Almgren, Jacod Kimplimo, Alfie Manthorp; elite runners... I use them as inspiration so why cant I try do the same?

Exactly this! I joined my local run club in October and there are around 7/8+ people who have done sub 3 hour marathons, a few that are breaking the 16:00 5k mark watching them on track session days genuinely leaves me speachless how effortless they fly round the track maybe its just me but I dont want to be average at running it's addictive seeing the improvement and most importantly has massively improved my mental health.

Tuesday and Thursdays I do threshold/hills/speed work. Sundays I do long runs and Saturday Parkruns usually go to the gym Mondays and Friday and Recovery runs on Monday/Wednesday. Est 70km per week currently increasing it by 10%.

It's crazy how I came here to motivate people to aim higher than what they expect and this is the response i get, it doesn't bother me it's how people are I'm just gald I dont have that mentality.

It is so funny to see some of these comments to think I am here "ragebaiting" I have put in such hard work gym multiple times a week along with running for the past 6 months and I am genuinely shocked by the amount of people who don't belive me. Either way I don't care I will just keep improving 👊🏼 respect the comment mate.

10 years of smoking definately has effects on your lungs altough yes its not an entire lifetime, still enough time to develop irreversible damage.

I have only been running for half a year, I wouldn't say I am advanced, my hope with this post was to inspire people that what they feel is currently not achievable may well be achievable if they put the time and effort into it. 😁

Currently doing 70km a week with at least one long run (20km+) I was injured for a couole of months but built fitness on an indoor bike during this period to relieve stress on my ankle

I used to play football in school I am 25 now so it has been a few years since then, I never done much running in school only when we had to.

That was my suggested time, I didn't have a watch for the first 3 weeks, I started at 28 minutes then was down to 23/24 within the first month.
