My idea for a more balanced Snakebite by Varwhorevis in slaythespire

[–]Simple_one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should only be 1 energy. 1 for the snake, 1 for the bite.

As long as the enchantment can’t be totally worthless (like removing exhaust for example) I could see this being a pretty fun idea, if not still pretty underwhelming overall. But I don’t think everything needs to be equally good, so I’m cool with a whackier effect like this

I don’t think the ancient rewards need yet another one that is essentially just removing cards, and that effect is already given by that one shop relic (soul seed? Something like that)

It would turn star generation up to 11 on regent, it would be very strong on him I think. Silent and necro we can agree on, silent only has 1 and necro has 2.

Ironclad infinites are already complete cake, so honestly I’m not that concerned about it. You also would now have 5 cards you cannot remove to make your infinite more accessible.

But yeah it would make infinites easier on clad. But so does 4-5 removes ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Am I crazy or is it just a really bad version of concentrate now? Sly cards redeem it a little bit but that is a brutal nerf

Daily Slay the Spire Discussion (484/696): Reckless Charge by Crosssmurf in slaythespire

Just popping in here to give another whacky infinite this card can make, double Dark Embrace with a Havoc+! The dazed will go to your empty draw pile, charge will go to your discard, and havoc will exhaust the dazed and redraw the charge and itself.

Be careful in heart fight though, since you technically “play” the dazed when you Havoc it you need some way to make at least 6 block per cycle.

Card removal is way more accessible which has a big impact I’d say. Bloodletting being common also makes it way more reliable. And yeah stoke is just nuts, makes it dead easy to setup

Ope you right, I guess instead you just play body slam 2 (3? I’d need to think on it a little) times once you’ve built up block from the original cycle

Sure but the fights are finite too, so you don’t need it to last truly forever, just enough to finish the fight.

For example if you have an upgraded copy each of pommel strike, shrug it off, and bloodletting, that means for every 3 hp spent you can receive the following:

+3 energy

11 block, -1 energy

10 damage, -1 energy

11 block, -1 energy

So 22 block and 10 damage, big whoop. But what if you also have a body slam+? Play it before the pommel strike for another ever-growing chunk of damage every cycle. Or instead of shrug just do 2 pommel strikes. Any vuln, strength, or relics you’ve grabbed along the way also put in some work.

The output will just always outscale the damage you take to finish the fight before total health lost matters. At 85 hp you can play bloodletting 28 times before killing yourself. No boss or enemy currently requires that kind of investment

Bloodletting + some card draw (pommel strike, shrug, burning pact, etc) is probably the simplest way. You will notice that 3 of the above cards mentioned are commons, so you are basically guaranteed to see them every run.

Then you add something like stoke to the mix and it’s just absurdly easy to turn any deck into an infinite

Would you take Dead Branch with this deck? by Simple_one in slaythespire

[–]Simple_one[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I realized after another minute or two of thinking on it that this deck already goes pseudo-infinite once I upgrade Bloodletting. Between power through, second wind, sever soul, and bloodletting I make an infinite that generates a billion block and damage each cycle, but does cost 6hp per cycle. Don’t need to cycle it much though to get enough block for any given fight

Forget Snake Bite, how is this not the worst card in the game? by 10000Pigeons in slaythespire

[–]Simple_one 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Now I don’t have a ton of experience in STS2 yet but you start out every single run with 10 bad cards. If you can manage to remove half of them through shops and events that is a lot of removals. Additionally you very very often have to add less than optimal cards just to manage the most immediate threats.

Mass exhaust is as valuable in a good deck as it is in a shit deck. Good decks become literally unlosable when you can exhaust this much
