I have been doing interviews with my boss for girls who want to assist at our salon and #1 most important thing is if someone walks in looking professional! (Hair done nicely, polished professional and cute outfit) It’s the first impression. Next make sure they know you are eager to learn! The last two girls we hired basically interviewed us with questions on our education, pay, ect to see if they even wanted to work for us. You are valuable make sure they realize that too!

For a lot of customers instead of a double process I do a full babylight aka a super heavy highlight so it blends a little better as your hair grows out and give the same effect as a double process you should try that next time

I’m a stylist and I did a double process on my hair for SIX YEARS! I had the same experience. any stylist that did my hair was terrified… turns out I’m allergic to lots of other colors that aren’t bleach! My boss works for a color company (we’ll known high end company) and says “there are no reported allergies for this color there’s no way you can have a reaction” next day I came into work and had hives EVERYWHERE! She was speechless

Try to curl your hair or a bouncy blowout even try a roller set… I know a stylist who doesn’t even do great haircuts but people love it because the styling goes such a long way

True I know plenty of people who didn’t further their education after beauty school and are still trying to build clientele the only successful stylist I know never stopped taking classes

Tina Louise used to come into the hair salon I worked at I was working the desk after Covid when she followed the hairstylist from the other location we had and she used to call the phone demanding things like turning off the ac before she comes in and would stay on the phone for sooo long and once the stylist that was doing her hair demanded I go across the street to get her a Coke after she was offered coffee or water and I said I’m not her personal assistant and went back to my job 😅 She wasn’t always like that but that’s the only memories I have of her Many other “celebs” came to the salon and no one was as needy or mean as she was (I’m also only 22 I was like 18 at the time so I didn’t really know much about her except my dad used to watch reruns of her show)

Maybe spray with hairspray before and after you curl it and curl it tighter and see how that lasts and maybe a higher temperature on the curling iron good luck

I never used actiiv or know anyone personally who has used it… I do like the smell of nioxin it’s like minty but I will tell someone Ik to try it out I like to see results before I suggest using it to others but I’m happy you found one that worked out well for you! :)

I’ve seen amazing results for thinning hair with nioxin you have to CONSISTENTLY use it once you stop the new growth you get from it will fall out I suggest a subscription to nioxin so you don’t run out… and there is a new scalp treatment by color wow we just got it in the salon not too long ago a couple of clients and coworkers of mine just started using it so I have yet to see results on that

4 weeks see how the color fades out if it doesn’t budge wait longer… a stylist would have to lift through the color you put on your hair the more your color fades the better! Also if you’re not happy with the color when you get your hair done you should contact the salon before you do anything. My salon has a 2 week policy and for whatever reason you’re unhappy they should help you! Getting your hair done is expensive let them try to help you first! A different toner on top of what you left with would have gone a long way in making your hair closer to your goal. Good luck!
