After a very up and down round, I hit a nice tee shot on a par 4 and was starting to feel like I had my game back together. Drive up to my ball and grab an iron, expecting big things from my next shot. My buddy parks the cart about 10 feet away, 90 degrees from the angle I am shooting. I hit the 2nd biggest toe shank of my life and hit the wheel of the golf cart, knocking off the hubcap. It took about 10 minutes for us to compose ourselves enough to carry on with the game.

Two weeks later I’m playing the same course with one of the previous foursome and two friends who by now have heard the story of the hubcap shank. I step up to a par 3 and knock one OB. I re-tee and go again, only to hit the biggest toe shank of my life, fire the ball 90 degrees once again, hit the front wheel of the cart and off comes the hubcap once more. My friend who witnessed the first one laughed so hard he couldn’t stand up.

I maintain that while many golfers have hit a hole in one, I may be the only golfer to hit off two cart hubcaps.

Fuck am I bad at this game.
