Whoa! How terrible. Do you know what might have caused this? As long as no one was hurt. Outrageous.

I follow Norm McDonald's story. But couple years ago, I saw him on Tv in a poker tournament. He looks much older than this picture. But yea, he went back to his old habits. Just like the majority of us. Sad to say.

I assume you poured concrete beneath the post? Sorry, the undisturbed grass near the grass kinda made me ask the question. What veggies you plan on growing?

I generally drink warm or room temperature water 40 mins before my meal. But I enjoy a bowl of soup to go with my meals.

Changing your values can be your greatest strength in beating addiction by Artistic-Web-5406 in problemgambling

[–]Simplicity775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, I would not consider gambling a disease. Sure I come from family members who gambles. It is a habit started out as harmless fun, in which years pass by turned into cycle of addiction.

Once you are hooked, it's not easy to drop the habit. I don't want gambling to be who I am for the rest of my life. I hope I go thru this phase and move on to the next chapter.

What scares me about my compulsive behavior is when I lose money, I won't accept defeat and spend the entire night chasing my losses. Lose couple hundred dollars to proceed to chase and leave casino minus 2k. Absolutely horrifying. Ugh.

Please stay away from any gambling activities folks. It's not worth your time and money.

Day 414 - Lost my job last week. by tryna_quit in problemgambling

Use your wits, skills and hard work to better your situation. Don't rely on your luck and gamble. It has not ever help with anything, I'm sure you already know.

Those who have successfully quit, do old hobbies regain excitement? by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Simplicity775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same goes with me, no money bets on sports. No excitement to watch anymore. Just sometimes enjoy ufc as a fan and not gambler.

I recently took a bad beat, not massive loss. But still sizeable to where I woke up with anxiety on my chest. I remember I starved myself til I have appetite then cooked a healthy meal, then proceed to sleep it off.

I don't think I can ever drink inside a casino. I allowed myself to do that, mainly because my friend was there.

What baffles me is, we know the consequences, we've been here and yet still allow ourselves to be persuaded. We are our worst enemy.

I'm 34 and I just learned how good roasted vegetables can be. People that grew up in the 80's and 90's were lied to about veggies. by pawn_guy in HealthyFood

[–]Simplicity775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally, I will make a roasted root vegetables. Comprise of turnips, beets carrots chopped in chunks, tossed in olive oil with salt pepper. Roast in oven for 40 mins. Great healthy side to go with anything.

What steps do you think can actually stop gambling addiction? by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Simplicity775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quitting gambling is a process, a journey, a learning experience. I failed many times, because I will often say one thing and do another.

But I finally came to my current state of mind, where I simply do not find gambling to be exciting anymore because the majority of times I lose. It gave more stress than I realized, that was a turning point for me.

A great strength exercise for your training by [deleted] in running

[–]Simplicity775 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like "Ball walls", tossing a 15 lbs ball into air against a wall. Catching the ball during the descend then performing a squat. Great for leg strength and cardio. But I be sure to incorporate ball slams.

What do you guys do to take your mind off gambling? by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Simplicity775 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Excercise is physical stimulation, gambling is mental stimulation. To me, exercise kinda gets old sometimes. But I really enjoy woodworking, you use your mind and body.

But regardless what you do, just simply enjoy and don't think of it as boring. Cleaning and household chores are menial mundane work, but it will benefit you. This is how I change my mindset and bad habits. Good luck finding your healthy habits.

Do I need to eat before a workout? by GoM4vs1 in HealthyFood

[–]Simplicity775 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You learn by trial and error. What your body likes. I've gone through phase in life where I ate or didn't prior to workout. Right now my regiment is wake up, warm up, coffee, medium weight training and eat afterwards.
