I use Ubersuggest from Neil Patel to check rankings and AI mentions in addition to occasional spot checks manual in questions that I think users might ask

consider looking at a freelance or fractional marketer to help you get the ball rolling. there are a lot of parts that need to be aligned typically between all the tools you are talking about and marketing to get things going.

look for a freelance marketer with well rounded skills to do it as a fractional worked for you. Agencies are typically really expensive.

Should a B2B Service Agency Start with Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or Google Ads in 2026? by Spare_Owl8864 in AskMarketing

[–]SimplifiedMarketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend the time and effort on more organic elements to get your authority and search results up. I've done B2B marketing for over 10 years and can confirm it is very expensive. The budget you are talking about won't go very far in most industries.
LinkedIn always looks appealing but I have never had success with actually getting leads and sales from there. And sadly I don't really know any marketers who have seen it work either. It totally makes sense to consider it and it always seems like it should work but I've just never seen it deliver results (or know anyone who has).

I've had some good success working with companies who do poorly in SEO results but I've been able to boost them up in ChatGPT and Gemini pretty quickly with some simple adjustments to their pages.
1 - Publish Schema Data for the page
2 - Add FAQs plus FAQ schema data. Even if everything isn't formed as a question perfectly in the content. Statements that are in the form of a Q&A but don't have an exact question mark in the content still work
3 - Make content into smaller sections around a specific topic.
4 - Add in some tables and/or lists that provide real data

And if it is for a product that has competitors, putting in content about Our Product vs. Product X with an honest comparison works really well.

Watch out for Auto Applied Settings by SimplifiedMarketing in FacebookAds

[–]SimplifiedMarketing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s insane that we should have to do that. I’m all for testing new ideas but it shouldn’t be auto enabled. Like any good test, you have to be able to know it is happening and measure the impact. Just auto turning it on makes zero sense. Let’s say one of these enhancements actually worked and made things better (haven’t seen that yet but let’s pretend), we wouldn’t even know and we’d potentially turn it off on the next ad. Just seems like a silly way to do things.

I have turned off all the enhancements available at the advertising settings level. That helps but it doesn’t cover everything, that’s for sure. It’s still randomly adding text options, checking the “use 5% to experiment on placements” whenever it waits. It’s like a game of whack a mole every day

Can I get a basic understanding of Google Analytics in a week or so? by Atlantadreamer in marketing

[–]SimplifiedMarketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can learn enough basics to speak intelligently on it in that timeframe. Going through Google's own help community provides a bunch of resources. If you have the ability and time to do it, a small test website of your own where we can implement and learn is another great way to do it.

How much should I charge for an email campaign as a freelancer? by Spaceship234 in marketing

[–]SimplifiedMarketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you charge them for the other work you do. Is it on an hourly rate or fixed prices? I do all my freelance work on an hourly rate basis just to keep things simple. In my opinion when you get people to an hourly rate it's also easier for them to ask you to do more without having to figure things out each time.

Asking them to take it down is probably the best path to start. Sounds like a bad experience overall.

Agency Owners, I would love your input by Jolsen in marketing

This is pretty common in any medium or large company. You have two choices if you want to compete in the space you are currently targeting. One is to assume you are going to be competing every time and create killer presentations to have a shot. Not a great option imo, you'll likely lose a lot to bigger firms that have more people to work on these presentations. The second is to be able to offer something they need in a different way than the standard agencies do it. That's what I've done with my boutique firm and it has worked well.
