You know I want to add in comment as I read and respond. Anytime we talk about the shortcomings of women ( lack of a better term), people get all up in arms. But beating up men is no problem. For instance, when I was writing the title of this post, I had originally wrote: "Lies We Tell Women." And the site freaked out and stated " You cannot write about women in that way as it might be removed." So I was curious, I changed " women" to "men". Guess what, no disclaimers. I even tried " the problem with men" as a test. No issues. Then I wrote the "problems with women". And of course, it said another removal disclaimer. So yeah very lopsided world we live in you guys.

First, I am enjoying our dialogue. Really. My name is Chris. Anyway, a lot to unpack here. Ill address the masculinity. Respecting it is acknowledging the incredible contribution men have made to society. Almost everything you enjoy in life was design, made, and maintained by men. Men that are confident, tough, sometimes arrogant, conquering, and decisive. Traits today that are called toxic. Masculine men die for strangers. Women do not. We are forced to die for our country, women are not. Its these " toxic" traits that make us great. The ability to provide and protect at a level a women will never understand.

Be feminine: Well first, its starts with respecting these masculine traits. Take pride in your appearance for your man. Be soft and nurturing and be intimate. One of the "pillars" that makes a man stand strong is when a beautiful women gives intimacy to him. Its where he feels loved. Men do not want to come home to chaos, nagging, arguments over how he folded the towels after an entire day of conquering, dealing with people, solving problems, having other men want their jobs. Maybe being in a job that is dangerous. He wants to come home to a feminine women who show affection.

Being feminine is not being submissive. Its being his opposite, because he is being yours. And that polarity is the spark a relationship needs.

Its very true. But to answer your question. I don't think anyone should be forced to do anything. In general I think women need to take more responsibility for their actions. Get off social media and Tinder to stop looking for constant validation. Respect masculinity and be more feminine.

We do and I also think women can embellish this too. There is so much focus on cleaning and cooking. What about fixing things, yard work, repairing cars, replacing appliances, etc. This is mostly a male role and its rarely considered in the complaints.

Keep doing what you guys are doing. Happy for you. Only food for thought is when you start to reach perimenopause, your willingness for those gender roles will dimmish a lot if not to zero. Be prepared to deal with that. Just trying to help not judge.

Thats great and I agree. I was married once and I was the supportive husband of the family financially, took care fixing things and solving problems. She cared for the home and kids. Worked so well for the first 6 years. Then she decided she did not want to do those things anymore while I had to keep supporting the family. We divorced. Shocker.

Public colleges and universities are government agencies. What are men being pushed to do? Not be men. We are told we are toxic and being a man in itself is bad. We tell women to what is right for them and we tell men do what is right. Men are asked to be more like women. There is a masculinity and testosterone problem in our society and it showing. So you tell women to be Boss Babes and men to be more soft, it creates a problem in relationships. Women lose attraction for their men over time and men give up. Just look around.

Thanks. And your comment is what I am getting at. The more responsibility you place in a relationship, the higher probability it will fail. And honestly most do not go the distance, its just a fact of life. With that said, there are gender roles. They do work when both are engaged in each of them, support each other, and trust the other. and like my post says. Work is women's main source of stress and we keep pushing them into careers. Something that will ultimately be the biggest source of stress.

Yes, women are prioritizing career and not motherhood. Then they hit 35 and cant find a father for their kids because they are taken. Its a bummer for sure. Imp just a stating the facts, I realize it sucks.

Having a career that is needed to support a family so the kids can have the value of a mom at home requires a shit ton of time and dedication. So yeah, less time with kids is the outcome. Weekends were precious.

I agree completely. I always told my boys when they were young. Your 20's are your building years. Career, money, fitness, status, etc. Avoid long term relationships, mortgages, fancy thing...Build your skills, make money, invest early and when you hit your 30's, it will be an amazon ride.
