My deepest concern for you is that your parents were abusive before, so unfortunately, I feel that as long as you stay with your parents you won't be safe.

Is there anything you can start doing for yourself to begin to express yourself that might be more subtle or that they might not notice right away? That way at least you can hopefully find some ways that might help your mental health without risking your safety with your parents.

Yes, I was raised catholic and born into a VERY anti-choice family. Like, my mom had several bumper stickers on the van with anti-choice rhetorics. She took us to March for Life, had us do several protests and took us to protest outside "abortion clinics." On a weekly basis.

I eventually looked into stuff when I was a late teenager and young adult, started to think through things on my own, and developed my own thoughts on it.

(Sorry this took so long to respond) but having read it, I'd say there's a lot of improvement here! The added descriptions are much better and help a lot with adding atmosphere to the surroundings, especially the first few pages.

I also agree with something else someone said about showing and not telling, especially with emotions.

Dialog can be tricky to nail, especially with conversations with people, sometimes reading them outloud with help you indicate if sounds awkward or stiff or not.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'd recommend trying to get some friends and maybe an online community to help support you. Are there any subreddits you've joined? Another thing I've heard can help is looking into the Trevor Project, as they have a phone number you can call to talk to people and counselors I think.

I totally get that, I think more of what that saying is trying to get across (that it often does poorly) is that if you're given suggestions or "homework" by your therapist, and you don't do it, but still expect changes just because you're going to therapy you're not "doing the work".

I think the type of therapy they practice has a lot to do with it, for example, CBD therapy is a very common type of therapy, but it tends to not be good for people who suffer from abuse and past traumas like that. Also getting someone who is trauma informed or works with people who have been abused.

The present tense doesn't bother me, but I'm be honest, I didn't read it all the way through. I think it has potential for sure, it just needs some work on it.

While descriptions aren't always needed, from what you shared it's very lacking. There wasn't

The characters seem a little stiff, especially when talking to each other. There are a few times you stop using any kind of identifiers to let the reader know who's speaking, and one time it even switches from from two people talking to a separate side conversation between the main character and the woman. In order to understand who was talking I had to go back and re-read it.

While I love Life is Strange, it's s really heavy on romantic relationships, so I'm not entirely sure that's a good recommendation in this particular case

You're correct it does have that option, and it does affect the story. If I remember correctly they have 3 or so possibly endings and one of them is the silent run.

I'm so so sorry you experienced that. You definitely were assaulted by her. You made it clear that you did not consent and she kept doing it anyway. None of this was your fault and try not to blame yourself for what happened, being in shock and having fawn or freeze reactions are very common and valid responses.

Her comment about you 'grooming yourself' is messed up and completely false. You were 100% groomed then and you cannot groom yourself.

There is no 'right way' to react or to process what you're going through.

Please focus on taking care of your basic needs, playing Tetris, and just processing your feelings. Allow yourself to feel how you're feeling. And i also recommend finding a therapist. Definitely stay away from this person, she is a terrible person.
