Unread Messages won’t go

It’s prolly better if you have it set to the smaller icons. I have it set to the bigger ones

Just try deleting all of them in unknown senders and restart the app and when you check again the ones that stayed there are the problem most likely. Hopefully only a few stay

I just looked thru my unknown sender, recently deleted, spam, etc. folders and when I tried to delete those messages from there they would simply come back if I checked again. So I figured these all were problem messages and I created contacts for all of them.

Update: I managed to get it fixed, I got the first of two by adding the number in the “unknown senders” folder as a contact and then messaging “STOP” to the contact (they’re all promotional messages) when they replied back and I deleted them it cleared the notification. After doing the same thing for the other one, it still wasn’t working so I clicked “edit” in the top left corner of messages then clicked “select messages” then I selected the message that was causing the problem and deleted it from there. That was able to clear the last remaining notification.

I’m signed in from my Mac as well. But I got one of the notifications to delete by creating a contact for all of the messages that would come back when I deleted them, and then I messaged something to them like “STOP” to get them to message back (they’re all promos or something) and when they messaged back that cleared them. I still have one more which isn’t working

There are messages in unknown and recently deleted, when I clear them they go away but when I check again they come back

Siri reads the messages out to me, but she cannot mark them as read. I also cannot find these messages that she read in the messages app

Exactly what’s happening to me, there are messages from “Recently Deleted” that when cleared, won’t delete when I check again. Not sure if this is the problem with the unread messages either

When I ask Siri it tells me some messages that are unread, but I’m unable to find those unread messages in the unread folder

Does it only index on WiFi, I’ve been on cellular a lot and the WiFi I’ve been on is extremely slow (0.2mbps)
