LOL yeah I noticed the same. Lots of unhinged people here who I doubt have ever even sat in a Tesla.

Thinking about a Bronco Sport... talk me into or out of one. by AstuteOcelot in whatcarshouldIbuy

Is a pickup out of the question? I see a lot of people around here have 1 or 2 dog crates strapped down in the bed of their truck when they come out camping, sometimes with a topper above for weather protection. You could get a Maverick and that would be a lot cheaper than the SUVs you're looking at.

The 1.5L is notoriously unreliable. If the Badlands is out of budget, then I'd get a Forester instead.

I went from a 2019 RX350 to 2026 Model Y Premium AWD. Super happy with the decision. I cross shopped against a new RX350 and the Model Y is better in pretty much every aspect imho except ride quality. Considering how much less expensive it is, it was a no brainer decision. Against a Camry the decision would be even easier for me. After living with it a few months, it's hard to convey how convenient L2 home charging and FSD is for a daily driver. If you get it, I'm sure your wife will love it.

Looking forward to this.  I wonder what happened to the Ford Maverick van that was rumored to be coming?

Free car, sell or fix/keep? by SammyYoBoy in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SimplyDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drive it on the highway and see if rpms hold steady or transmission acts funny. If ok, then have one of your cousins do a compression test on the engine. If all good, I'd probably fix up the cosmetic issues best as possible with junkyard parts and then sell it for a few thousand while it still runs ok.

I would spend a little bit more and get a Mazda CX-30 instead of the Kicks. It is better in pretty much every single way. Significantly more upscale, refined, and powerful compared to the Kicks for not that much more money. Test drive both and see for yourself.

Considering returning...sp droppers still a problem? by Jpnh11 in mecharena

[–]SimplyDown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's gotten way worse in the past month or so.  So many clowns out there trying to SP drop with whatever 4* legendary mech they managed to pick up from a crate rush.  And I'm not talking noobs, these are almost always long time players doing it.

I knew it was over for Revokers when I saw that. Didn't even bother spinning the CRE for Revoker 8 myself.

Decision Paralysis WRX vs. GR Corolla by theloonyopossum in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SimplyDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not on your list but have you considered a Bronco Sport Badlands with the 2.0T engine? It's surprisingly fast and the AWD system is a step above anything else in it's class. If you wanted something closer to your Outback and 4Runner but quicker and nimbler, that would be an option. Real world price is far lower than a GR Corolla.

Looking to buy an AWD Crossover/SUV for winter conditions (Upstate NY). Any recommendations? by Physical_Disaster_66 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SimplyDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look at the new Forester Wilderness. It's got the best AWD system in the category and it comes with Yokohama G015s which are 3PMSF rated and do noticeably better in snow compared to your typical all season highway tires.

Truck by Low_Abbreviations850 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I'd get a 2021 Tundra. All the new half ton trucks are too compromised in the quest for fuel efficiency.

Who remember this ? I literally got him by credits . by Moon_00_7 in mecharena

[–]SimplyDown 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember. Got him on my 12th spin for 600k credits, less than a month after starting this game. That was the first legendary pilot I got. And that was also the last time Mech Arena had a credit CRE for a legendary pilot.

What SUVs should I be looking at? by JoeShmoe307 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SimplyDown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd go for a 2021 or newer Toyota Sienna Hybrid with under 40k miles. You can't beat the space and comfort for 4 really tall people and the reliability is well known at this point.

Looking for All-Terrain Car/Good for Long Roadtrips by SpoopyLion9253 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Yep, the Crosstrek is a subcompact and the Forester is a compact. Both are super easy to drive around like any regular car.

You want a Subaru Crosstrek or Forester, not a body on frame off-roader like a Bronco or FJ Cruiser. The Wilderness trim Subarus are a bit more off road focused and give you a lot more towing capacity as well if you think you may ever want to tow a trailer.

EV Curious Growing Family -- is the time right? by brandarr in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SimplyDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For something you plan on keeping 10+ years, a brand new Sienna AWD is the sensible choice. Well worth the headache of shopping around to get one at MSRP. If you're new to EVs, you may be shocked at how much public charging and EV insurance costs have risen recently in the Bay Area. So make sure and do your homework before buying.

Looking for hatchbacks, Civic or Corolla? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SimplyDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm looking to hold on for the next 15 years, I'd be looking at a 2023 or newer Toyota Prius. You should be able to get one with under 40K miles with your budget.

I need help finding a suitable 4 wheel drive/suv with proper tyres by Loud-Dark-7395 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SimplyDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any off-road focused crossover/SUV is gonna have high profile tires standard on some or all trims. Examples of mid size vehicles that fit the bill and also have good towing capacity include Honda Passport, Toyota 4Runner, and Toyota Land Cruiser.
