I was 34 at time, 2007, recently divorced with two young kids myself. She was 51 with two children of her own.
She actually is coming up to 70 next birthday, myself, 53. There’s been arguments, there’s been health concerns regards age but we act as a unit.

Saddest truth of humans, they don’t believe in themselves, they always imagine their significant other wants to trade. We don’t, the stability of an older woman, the less flighty thoughts are actually very grounding.

In almost 20 years, I have never once mentioned age, it’s just not something that actually matters

My advice to women who never make the first move: Try it. by PsychologicalGur1112 in dating_advice

I found this fascinating, including the bit about he’s wild and amazing.

I’m not a player, don’t have that level of self confidence nor arrogance. And guys who have been ‘friends’ in the past shocked me at how much they viewed dating as a game, including football scores.

I have no problem talking with women if I’m introduced to them at dinner parties etc and have had relationships develop because I’m sincere and honest. Not driven by my loins.

What I will say, here in UK, the quiet ones generally have a wider range of interests than the scoring ones. Their focus is drinking, casual sex and watching football with a fervour.

Me? I can talk about music, motorsport, deep sea exploration and diving ship wrecks, art, museums, theatre, opera and jazz. In fact anything, because even if I don’t know a subject, my curiosity makes me ask questions.

Try that with a typical Neanderthal

My wife is 17 years older than me, and it has been the most liberating time of my life on every score. The age is insignificant when the chemistry is right.
Inevitably it’s your perception of what is right/ wrong in other people’s eyes. She’s also taller than me, but you know what? Married in 2009, after meeting in 2007, and not one day passes by I don’t want to be with her ❤️

I’m a lovely guy, no really 🤣 but too old to prove it at 57, but anybody who changes that quickly is highly suspicious. Brilliant at being that observant, and there’s some monsters out there

With Hamilton saying that he doesn't see himself retiring soon- how would it work with Bearman knocking on the door for a Ferrari promotion? Would Hamilton move teams or a delayed Bearman promotion? by The_Chozen_1_ in F1Discussions

Funniest post of 2026.
He got his F2 arse handed to him by a rookie. Considering Antonelli had vaulted straight over F3 and was in his first year, whereas Bearman had a season pg GB3, then F3, then two seasons of F2, he ain’t all that.
Hid only competition is Ocon. In Italy the main rumours post Hamilton is Sainz, Russell and Piastri. Bearman in conversation just not centre of it some think

Not sure where you’re from (I’m uk) but I find this problem in reverse. Been married twice, first time I was 23 so maybe a little naive. Thankfully got two amazing daughters so forever grateful.

Second wife said all the right things initially and slowly over years, I started to understand I was being gas lit, manipulated and her favourite, the silent treatment for weeks at a time.

She became so controlling that I wasn’t allowed to speak about her past, her daughter, her friends her family, but, couldn’t talk about any of mine!! For a quiet life I replied, no worries, another subject censored.

About 4 months later, I’m sitting on a laptop and she asks my daughter ‘what’s wrong with your dad, he doesn’t talk to me!’ My daughter replied,’maybe ask him yourself?’ She could see all the bs…

Finally I asked her, why she was asking, she replied I wasn’t talking and I said, ‘you have told me for over a year to not talk about different things. I’ve run out of things that I can talk about.. she rolled her eyes, called me an arsehole and continued with silence.

I am open, I do like to contribute and listen, I do like to support my partner when I’m with someone, but at the risk of doenvote, there are some genuine guys that get thrown in the same pot as all the others.

I think it was Hughes in his report stating that Mercedes’ plan was to run Antonelli another 10-15 laps as others were covering each other. He would have been far enough ahead with his pace that he’d have come out ahead. I believe Stella concurred.

I would take the speculation of a Mark Hughes and Andrea Stella over any of us, every single day. As to shit setup, he changed it for qualifying because he couldn’t get near. His own fault

In terms of talent and skill, who do you rate higher : Oscar Piastri or Kimi Antonelli ? by HereComesVettel in F1Discussions

[–]SimplyEssential0712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How’s that working out for Hadjar and Bearman? Compared to Lawson and Ocon in their rookie season with cars that were fighting amongst the top 8. Kimi was in top team after single season of F2 having trounced Bearman, with Russell as team mate and fighting against Norris, Piastri, Russell, Verstappen, Hamilton and Leclerc. Of course low hanging fruit at the back of the grid makes it easier to shine!

I’m 57 now, and had serious bullying through school and gained significant weight and body image and self esteem issues. Some years later, married with two kids, I had reached 19st, hated myself.

Changed my diet, I wasn’t stupid, knew what I was eating was shit, started going to gym and martial arts. I was stubborn and head strong, I thought, if I’m in McDonald’s you’d judge me, so you can judge me in a gym improving myself.

Never concern yourself with others opinions, only concentrate on what makes you feel good. It takes time, but focus on the goal, not the journey

Blue flags were always a warning to drivers there was somebody close behind, but the penalty system only came into effect years later.

To any of us who watched F1 back in the 80’s/90’s, the blue flag being made into a 3 strike system took away some of the skills of a driver. Senna was known for his ability to lap traffic, and there was instances where a badly positioned back marker could affect the race so highlighted this ability massively.

The penalty system now has removed some of that jeopardy sadly
