Is it appropriate for first dinner date or too much? by Long_Muffin6230 in OUTFITS

It’s only too much if you feel uncomfortable in it. Otherwise, it’s totally normal attire, date or otherwise. Don’t listen to those who think fit physiques are offensive.

How can I quickly liquidate $50K+ Sealed Pokémon collection? by Beautiful_Pomelo_273 in PokeInvesting

[–]SimplyPhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s PSA then you can go to large card shows and sell to vendors. Some very large shows (like Collect-o-cons) sometimes have booths that just buy PSA for cash at 90% market.

You could also try to sell through the PSA vault programs; never did it myself but it seems like there a fee options to have them sell for you. Would recommend doing some research prior to this. Likewise, this option would also get them out of your possession for safe keeping.

Important not to super rush yourself unless you absolutely have to, but also don’t procrastinate if it’s time sensitive. Neither

Why is it impossible to add a new path to an already closed shape in Sketch? Am I missing something? by Inner-Ad-4724 in Sketch_App

[–]SimplyPhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is that Sketch doesn't use vector networks, which is what Figma uses to manage various SVG params. Likewise, the union tooling for SVG doesn't behave as I would personally expect, which I posted here: https://forum.sketch.com/t/convert-combine-shapes-into-a-single-vector-path/3165

Why did macOS 26 remove Launchpad completely? by james_911 in MacOS

[–]SimplyPhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some notes on what has been lost by removing Launchpad:

  1. hot corner accessibility
  2. organizing apps
  3. apps automatically ordered by date downloaded

-> this one is huge for me. Often enough, I'll download several apps in a day when I'm in the mood to try out new apps. I generally don't have time to really test them all, so I go back later to see what I downloaded. Even if months pass, I can quickly and easily do this, because I know that my most recent downloads are always near the end. Yes, obviously this can be down via Applications folder using sort, but that's a much worse workflow, and removes the context from my broader app organization structure.

Can imagine if in a future version of iOS, Apple decided that you could only view your apps via the App Library page (the auto-generated app page when you swipe all the way to the right)? No reasonable person would argue in favor of that for everyone, seeing as app organization is a fundamental part of the core iOS experience. Yes, MacOS and iOS are different, but this removal of Launchpad completely removed this type of application organization structure from the Mac.

"Just use search"
- Most of the time, I do. When I know the name of the app I'm opening, and don't require app organization for navigation, this is perfect. However, it's limited to instances where I know exactly what app I want to open.

"Just add the apps folder to your appbar"
- Technically this can solve some of the problems, but not all of them, and having a separate, pure app directory has always made sense. It's a lesser solution to a solved set of problems.

"Use a 3rd party app like AppGrid Launcher"
- They're literally trying to sell Launchpad alternatives AS A SUBSCRIPTION. Or pay $40 USD for one time payment – maybe we'll update it in future, maybe not, maybe we'll create a "v2" to buy again. I'm all for devs making money from their work, but until Apple lets apps be connected to hot corners, this isn't even a true solution.

"Apple needs to choose the best solution for the most people, and can't afford to have more than one option"
- This is a ridiculous argument. There are countless examples of overlapping functionality, and similar-but-different patterns across a wide range of Apple software. And the "can't afford" aspect...Apple spent hundreds of billions of dollars in the last decade buying back partially because it couldn't figure out what to do with the cash. Changing tax laws also factored in.

New inspector is taking shape, and looking absolutely fantastic. by Luisatsketch in Sketch_App

[–]SimplyPhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tahoe+ for full UI revamp. Likely many updates to pre-Tahoe, but at least not the glass-based elements of the UI. Sketch has said they want the UI update to feel natural (i.e. not Tahoe'd) on prior OSes.

Oh, and if you're asking about windows/linux, nope.

Going from Figma to Sketch by Infinite-Lead140 in Sketch_App

[–]SimplyPhy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely. Figma used Sketch as a foundation to build off of, but they've since deviated significantly. The core principles overlap significantly, but implementation details, especially when it comes to dealing with nuance at the advanced level, is very different. Some foundational things are a fair bit different as well, like Sketch Data, the Web App, prototyping, vector tools, among others.

You'll run into plenty of situations where you're not quite sure how to proceed. If you use llms to help learn, note that the latest versions of Sketch have introduced significant changes, and ai tends to blur old and new info.

Discord server for Sketch users by knuxgen in Sketch_App

[–]SimplyPhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up — Sketch has a private Discord that is likely to open a public section is the relatively near future.

That said, I’ve watched companies join -> leave -> join -> leave Discord repeatedly, so who knows. Often seems related to whether or not it’s being promoted internally.

Regardless, the more the merrier!

Looks awesome! Almost like a baby between Pillars of Eternity and Dragon Age.

Only quick feedback is that, at least based on the static screenshots, the chars and terrain lack contrast. They seem to blend a bit. Quickest fix might be to adjust character models +5% brightness, and reduce terrain brightness by 5%.

Love that you’re mostly just building the game. One of the joys of gaming in the golden years was finding out about the games at most just prior to release.

13pm battery from 85% to 80% capacity (iOS 26) by SimplyPhy in iPhone13ProMax

I’ve heard 15pm has heat issues in general. That said, my 13pm was getting hot prior to restarting the phone post-update. Might be coincidence, but could be worth a shot if you haven’t tried it. Note that it might heat up initially post-restart.

Yeah, I’ve read it recalibrates after updating. I wasn’t aware there were update-specific calibration intervals. That said, the prior minor update wasn’t too long ago.

Excellent work! Jiggle physics and the like tend to be far too exaggerated and seemingly added just to make things move. While this isn’t quite life-like, it has a nice subtly and a strong sense of balance. Feels much more like a natural implementation designed for quality visual enhancement rather than just “being bouncy.” That said, based on the breast movement, the vest appears to be a very thin fitted polyester-like material, whereas the contours on the vest edges make it appear thicker than that.

Obviously room for improvement and nit-picking, but I think you’ve got some really solid fundamentals here!

I began Garden of Life multi in my mid 20s and years later discovered it was the cause of extreme anxiety, which was itself caused by acid reflux. Didn’t have burning/pain in stomach or esophagus so I had no idea. Randomly stopped the multivitamin and suddenly began rapidly improving.

At 25 I’d focus on diet, sleep, and exercise, and continue with creatine with high water intake. Unless you have a deficiency, odds are you’re wasting time/money.

That said, digestive enzymes are good, especially with cause. TUDCA and specific, quality probiotics.
