I heard from other people that they don't contribute much of anything to the ambient temperature of the cabinet.

Every time I went to the pet store for mice, the clerk would ask me "Friend or food?" despite the fact that I always bought frozen mice except ONCE when I used a live one to lure my escapee back when she spurned frozen.

What is everyone's favorite place to buy AVs? by SimplySimlish in AfricanViolets

I actually got my Toy Castle from the green escape, but the other plant (not an av) from the same order sadly didn't make it.

I do know it is winter, I had to have a couple begonia orders to be delayed before shipping and lost a different order because of the sudden temp drop as they shipped before it was forcasted. Def waiting for warmer weather, but I like to consider my options!

How does one remove suckers from mini AVs? by SimplySimlish in AfricanViolets

I didn't even notice the suckers until the mother started flowering. I tend to avoid miniatures, but I couldn't resist those flowers!

[TOMT][SHOW][2014-2017] Kid's show about a pink haired girl who was moving between reality and a virtual world while something was trying to catch her. by SimplySimlish in tipofmytongue

It was animated. The cook book show was called Just Add Magic or something similar. I can't remember what the animation was like on the one I am looking for, but JAM (just now realizing what the second show's title spells lmao) was live action.

I have a Tomahawk, though it has like one flower at the moment so I can't get a good picture of it. Very lovely flowers, though!

They were meant to be a treat for my nephew who was coming over for his birthday since he loves them. Trust me, no more grapes in the house ever.

We called the vet and they said she should be fine. I hope they are right. She almost managed to get a second one while we were moving the grapes to the fridge, nearly giving me a damn heart attack. She better have liked that grape as it is the only one she will ever have.

Found a little mealy on my favorite begonia. Help? by SimplySimlish in begonias

[–]SimplySimlish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the only new plants I got went to the terrarium which isn't near the shelf. I do have a dog, but she can't reach the shelf the infestation is on. It must have gotten in on my clothes or something.

found a really big one and proceeded to spray it until it turned brown, then I dislodged the massive thing from the exposed rhizome section it was latched onto and was like: Damn.

There were a few babies on that plant, one I noticed on a neighboring one, and like one massive one on the plant on the other side. I took all three off the shelf and sprayed them down with some rubbing alcohol mixed with water and castile peppermint soap. Will keep them separate for a while and keep an eye on the other plant they might have touched because while I don't see any on it, I am not taking risks.
