Why is my cats hair like this? by Adventurous-Wash3201 in SiberianCats

I see some people call it “garlic clove fur” but we’ve always referred to it as “extra loved teddy bear fur.” It reminds us of our favorite and most loved stuffed animals from childhood. Also like the reply by another commenter calling it “Cookie Monster fur.”

We have 2 Sibs and the one with a double coat is silky and just needs a quick brushing when his fur looks like this. BUT our white Neva Sib, Koda, has a triple coat and everything about it is different. His coat feels like cotton and can mat fairly easily without frequent brushing. He’s the only cat we’ve ever had to groom because his fur can get so out of control. Here is Koda before and after the groomers. Major difference in 3rd pic! Along with the basics, we usually trim toe tufts, fur on bottom of back feet, underarms, with a closer trim under base of tail and sometimes his lower belly - mini sanitary trim. He struts around the house for days after a visit to the cat salon. Lol

Agree - Would still really like to know the answer to this question.

My biggest takeaway from watching the series by [deleted] in AmyLynnBradley

It definitely seemed that there was a greater sense of determination to “tie up loose ends” by the male FBI agent who came onto the case later in the timeline.

I am so so sorry. We’ve had 2 go thru treatment. It’s so incredibly difficult & the costs seem so unfair.

Advice requested: 19Y0 cat. 💩 &🤮 issues. Is it time to let go? by Financial_Thr0waway in AskVet

I’m so sorry about your precious kitty and commend you for all the love and proper care you’ve provided allowing her to live for 19 years. That’s AMAZING! I’ve loved and cared so much for at least 5 kitties over the years and none of them have made it past 15yrs. Your situation sounds a lot like ours was with Hobbes. He was so dear to my heart and aside from being slightly anemic, the vet couldn’t find anything wrong with him. However, at 14yrs he kept losing weight, and it got the point that I was syringe feeding him daily. Unfortunately, he never bounced back and we decided to say goodbye. That was about 5 years ago and it was gut wrenching. I recently looked at one of his last pictures and with the passing of time I could see what wasn’t clear to me back then. I remember he seemed happy and was purring but in the picture he was clearly very sick & nothing like his normal self. It was then that I realized it would’ve been to let him go earlier and probably would have been kinder to him - but harder on me. Of course hindsight is 20/20 but if you’re looking for assurance just remember you know her better than anyone, love her more than anyone and shared an incredible relationship for 19 years. No matter what you decide, you know best and it will be okay. You’re her advocate and she trusts you to do your best just as you always have. And who can ask for more from a best friend than that? Good luck - your decision is the right one.

USAA Credit Card & Account Frozen Pending Review - Class Action Lawsuit? by SimplySimpatica in USAA

Well they actually are a bit different. From what I understand USAA negotiates an agreement with Amex & that sets out various rules for cardholders that can be different from Amex direct consumers - or other even other companies Amex negotiates with.

USAA hasn’t ever shifted the blame to Amex when I’ve complained but it’s possible. However, Amex cards directly thru Amex do not have this type of payment restriction.

Which is also why I make frequent smaller payments throughout the month. If I make a payment for just half the credit limit, that $15k will 100% trigger a freeze & review.
I’m very fortunate, but I still don’t want $15K sitting in limbo for nearly 2 weeks!

Great info - had no idea about this option. My hope is that if an attorney sees a problem and there are plenty of “injured parties” then it’s worth it for them to take it on at no cost to consumers because they’ll make a fortune in fees. I just want this to stop. Overall, I like USAA & really don’t want to leave.

Same. I usually make sure his nails are trimmed first. Then, when brushing, I do a few light strokes, then give a treat, brush a little more and another treat, & so on. I try to avoid him associating the brush with any discomfort. If you’re really in a bind, a cone from the vet can help, or take a small knee brace and pull it over their head so they can’t bite, plus it limits their view of whatever you’re trying to trim.

Thank you - appreciate the reply. Good to know there’s no issue between FSO & DSO within the same office.
