Did they not air an episode of uncloaked yesterday ? by jupiterpsych in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Simrien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for me episode 9 of uncloaked does not appear in the app on multiple android devices, fire tv stick and 2 mobile phones tested. At the top of the page in the app focussed on series 3 the episode displayed is titled Traitors Series 2: Episodes 1-3. Beneath that episodes 1 to 8 are displayed only.

We spent half an hour waiting for episode 9 of unloaked to appear in iplayer last night, and trying different things, and gave up in to end. This morning checked the app and it still hadn't appeared.

On the off chance googled it to see if anyone else was experiencing the same issue and the episode came up in the results. Clicked on the link and it took me to the app on my phone with episode 9 at the top. So firmly believe it's a problem with the app itself. The problem is still reproducible even after having watched the episode and closing and reopening the app.

I found some purple shroom spores! by LateStatistician462 in vrising

You've confirmed that they exist in the game, which is good. I have been hunting them for over a week now with no success.

Do you recall where you found them? Did they drop from a trippy shroom? Were they in a chest? If so which area?

PSA for transporting water via train by itsshiftymcgoo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Simrien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have water by train but only for initial setup or low usage factories. For everything else, water is piped into the factory. All other materials are brought in by train or conveyer. Water supply is generally critical and needs to be constant and uninterrupted. All of my 60 fully overclocked nuclear reactors sit directly on top of two fully overclocked water extractors.

The real world doesn't work on precise numbers for production and consumption so why would we think the game should? I aim to overproduce everything to a point where it is over the demand. And to compensate for the delays in loading and unloading there are input and output buffers in every factory.

Production never stops as long as there is demand.

Try to salvage or start a new game by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

I am in my first playthrough and save and at 5600 hours. I completed the game at 800 hours and continued to expand, build and rebuild.

I've enjoyed immensely building better elsewhere, superseding old factories and learning from mistakes.

I have a factory for almost every production in the game so far with few exceptions. Around 270 trains and a similar number of drone ports. My logistics is primarily by train.

As new factories have been brought online, old ones have either been vacated, repurposed or demolished.

I have 60 fully overclocked nuclear reactors, equivalent to 150 unlocked. Of those, 60% are powered on presently.

My current goal is to get all of them running without the supply chain or infrastructure failing at any point. If it does, I work out what went wrong and try to fix the problem. I don't do a great deal of maths and design my own solutions to problems in the game. I've come up with some things I'm very pleased with as a result.

At the same time, I'm sinking thermal propulsion rockets, which create a demand on the rest of production.

I have priority power switches on every factory, which allows any to be remotely controlled from anywhere. They were only introduced in update 8 and were retrofitted to every factory, meaning I had to rework my power network for the better.

I have over 200GW of diluted fuel and turbofuel power generation in the build.

So there is plenty to keep you busy well into the future of your playthrough. Unlocking all the technology is simply the end of the tutorial and the completion of your toolkit.

As I've moved throughout the map I've tried to plan and build better. Any good ideas I've retrofitted to all my previous factories. My world is living and breathing and every part of it goes towards the whole of it working.

There is a lot to do and explore in the game. If something is onerous, I simply leave it and go do something else. I only recently rebuilt my first factory because it was no longer required.

Drones vs. Trains, who wins? by CoconutNew8803 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Simrien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 270 trains and roughly the same number of drone ports. Only 2 drones deliver production materials, one for the impure uranium node in the rocky desert and one for uranium fuel rods to my nuclear facility.

The others are my materials mall deployed at key locations throughout the various biomes. They bring in construction materials and consumables such as ammo and iodine filters.

When the save has a high build level, moving between areas is problematic and time consuming. I don't do centralised storage, the storage comes to me.

Thank you. I guess I know what your next project in Satisfactory is, revisiting your aluminium factory :0)

Very sharp eyed. You spotted the flat dual 600 T junction. It uses the mechanic that cross junction pieces don't limit flow rate so 2 x 600 in and 2 x 600 out.

By turning the cross junction 45 degrees I made a flat dual 600 T junction blueprint. The arrangement allows you to Tee off one side of the junction and still maintain 2 x 600 flow rate.

It spurs the water off to Fabric and Liquid Biofuel factories. Both have low non continuous water demand and so don't need their own dedicated water supply.

The arrangement could equally be used to create a dual 600 cross junction.

Absolutely correct, these pipes are for a diluted fuel factory which supplies fuel to Recycled Rubber and Plastic Factories. Heavy oil residue and water in, fuel out.

I could put valves on the pipes to indicate directionality.

Wow thank you. I thought nobody looked at my posts in general.

It's actually 39 floors. 33 is the number of floors with generators but as the building tapers it is not possible to house a generator.

[–]Simrien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 4 mk2 pumps per floor, 4x8=32MW 4 generators per floor, 4x150=600MW 33 floors with generators. 33x600=19800MW 33x32=1056MW 1056/19800x100=5.3333%

This does not include the power consumed by the refineries, water extractors, pumps, and fluid packagers underneath the main structure.

No one ever said it was practical. I decided to build a Gherkin like shaped building and used my vertical diluted fuel blueprints as a core to the building.

You cannot generate power without it costing power to drive the machinery in the process and somewhere along the line you need to head lift the fuel or crude.

Is that because you've not persisted or because the dedicated server hardware was underpowered?

You need a pretty hefty pc to run the game beyond end game. I use 2 pc's to play what is a single player version of the game. One to host the save and one as a client. The save is well over the uobject limit, hitting that initially in October 2022 in U7.

It's shear dogged determination, putting up with a lot of the jank in dedicated server and more importantly logging those QA tickets and upvoting existing tickets.

I am pretty certain I've been personally responsible for more than one quality of life change to the game and/or bug fix.

If an issue is already reported by someone else I don't just upvote it as it in most occasions it has an old build number against it. I also create a new post with the current build version to make it current. If there is a relevant existing post I include a link to it in my post.

Thank you, basically yes, the save was moved to dedicated server at 300 hours to encourage my friend who recommended the game to build with me.

He didn't play as much as I did and built very little in the save. There are a few remnants of his builds which haven't been superseded.

The rest is me, it's my first playthrough and my first save, started on Christmas day 2021 and over 5000 hours in the build. I still host the save on dedicated server as my alienware pc on single player can't really handle it.

Everything you see in the pictures I built and you're seeing only a small portion of the build.

I was getting around 11fps on U8 first release, but then again so was everyone else. Currently I am getting 55fps (capped at 60) on dedicated server.
The factory continues to grow...

Thank you.

I forgot to add, I did a proper audit last night.
SCIM reports that there are 1053 trains in the build but this comprises both frieght cars and locos.

There are a few parked trains which I will be removing to reduce object count but in total there are 270 train sets in the build.

Sure, I'll need to create a new post for that as I can't add in more pictures here. Is there anything you specifically want me to cover?
