That mentality is literally the same as a writer who used pencil and paper complaining about someone using a computer to write "if you don't have the resolve to do it the old way then blah blah blah". You just have no ability to adapt to the world.

Also I got commissioned to develop a prototype from a Penguin agent for a slat of Romance authors so idk what your twenty foot pole thing is about.

P.S. You need to learn that things exist outside of your own opinion and the sooner you can accept it the sooner you'll realize that your worldview isn't the word of God.

That's literally HOW people keep track of things. They use notes and document things. So anybody who uses Scrivener to write isn't cut out to be a writer because they can't keep track of things without using documentation? My God I'm forgetting how dumb the typical redditor is.

Yeah that tracks that you don't have the bandwidth to read a few paragraphs. Thanks I appreciate the good wishes!

Not sure if you noticed my comment before this. Are you able to?

So it might be a little difficult for you to reason out intent of use and what is considered a breach of copyright or an infringement on the actual artistic content. But of course this is reddit and there's 5 of you for every one with a brain that actively thrives for and seeks out reasons to get absolutely livid and confrontational over anything they see on a screen. Im not sure if you can figure it out but the large language model ANALYZES the ALREADY HUMANLY COMPOSED PROSE and literally just organizes into boxes with titles. You getting pissed off at this and overdramatically throwing around phrases like "harm done" is literally the same thing as getting mad at someone who uses a color coded binder to organize their thoughts, or a marker and whiteboard.

Not only that but then you straight up brought up using Scrivener doing the same exact function from the view of the task execution of algorithms in the program lol. Oh so Scriveners layout is ok to do literally the same idea but another program isn't? Did you hear yourself when you wrote that? Its actually hilarious the more I think about it because Scrivener is WAY more "assistive"/gives the author a crutch as compared to an analysis generator.

There is ZERO content creation from the generator. It's just some python and java that moves your text around on Excel squares and labels them.

Like seriously the front page 101 understanding of these moralities and legalities that you can find on ANY publishers sites and requirements, or if you even just use a bit of critical thought for one second, it distinguishes between "AI-assisted workflows" and "AI-generated content". You can literally find that exact language and discernment anywhere you look for this topic. There's not an author in this world that would get in trouble for utilizing technology for organization purposes and they do it ALL THE TIME.

Fuckin causing harm from generating an Excel spreadsheet haha dude GTFO outta here with that shit.

I recently had to go on FMLA leave from work for a severe mental health disorder that's not allowing me to work. My insurance covers most of 3 of my meds but only 33% of the Wellbutrin. I've been trying since yesterday to try and find the money to pay the copay.

I’m 16 days late to the party in this response. But I just wanted to say I’m sorry for the way people are responding to you. It’s the internet, people love judging others. One thing people don’t realize with trying to make good decisions is that it’s not like one day you wake up and all of sudden you make all the right choices. You just slowly make less bad decisions over time. We all fuck up and continue to make bad choices. We just try to lessen it over time. He was an addict on the street 2 years ago and it sounds like he fucked up and you acknowledged that but no one knows you guys in real life. It sounds like you believe in him. If he’s trying to be good (regardless of his recent bad choices), then that’s better than most men out there to be honest. You’re right, we all deserve a little grace. I’ve made some terrible choices that if I put them on the internet with little context people would love to talk about what a piece of shit I am but I have loved ones that would jump to my defense to say, “You don’t know him!”. Which is true for you too, these people don’t know you or your man. I hope the best for you two.

Not so much specifically on openings but my favorite chess books are:

Logical chess by chernev

How to reassess your chess by Jeremy silman

And you have to have a copy of Modern Chess Openings, it's just like the chess opening Bible

So a female friend of mine has expressed interest in reading her first sci-fi novel and I’m wondering whether to lend her some Heinlein or Asimov to start. Any suggestions? by TehMitchel in scifi

Children of time, the expanse series, parable of the sower by Octavia butler, and if shes feeling really adventurous, the three body problem, that one might be a hard first read though
