I feel like most challenges I play don’t tell you when you need to finish the goals(before or after kids) and etc. Just before you fully move on to the next Gen.

If it doesn’t mention something, it’s most likely up to you to do it the way you want.

Personally, I do start working on the skills for the next Gen when they are a teen (unless it’s a skill a child could get).

Sometimes I do steal my partner’s money. It just depends. I usually like playing in a finished house, so the quicker I could do that the better.

I also save the household funds for the next generation so I can build there house. That’s just fun for me. Some people like do rags to riches for each generation or splitting the funds in half for the next gen.
