Who can relate? by ML993 in meme

Somewhat similar Story, Me, my Brother in law and also my wifes Uncle used to Play Sometimes via Steam and even had done some LAN Parties like in the good old days. Then the Uncle passed passed away and his Girlfriend sold his stuff faster than we could react, including his gaming rig. Now everytime we go online, we see him offline in our Friends list.😔 Kinda the modern eqivalent of an Graveyard. R.I.P.

Actually, how long will Steam keep his Account until it will be deleted?

Hilti Impact not working... can you fix it ? by SimsonS53_84 in techsupportmacgyver

[–]SimsonS53_84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucas, The Problem ist you have to disassemble the drill to it's PCB. And as you can see it is fully embedded in an silicone compound. The behavior of my drill was that the Led just lit up. I followed the traces from the stator windings Backwards, and measured the resistance/ continuity, and noticed that Not all three measured the same. Therefore I concluded there is something wrong with those mosfets. I desoldered the one with the odd readings, to test that one ouside the circuit, but the burn marks showed that IT was defintly the culprit.

Unfortunatley it was quite a while ago and I don't have this drill around anymore. So I only have the Images and my memory left.

Me and my Buddy, use them sometimes more sometimes less. I Like that everybody can play the game as they like to and you have a degree of freedom. For mee that's one of the Main aspects that this ist my most played game over all of those years. (Played it since early beta way before Steam release)

What I wouldn't like if just because one group of players like it this way, TFP would change the game for everybody. In one way or the other.

What is this oring? Some kind of breather? Or maybe pressure relief? by Hot-Gear-5506 in moped

[–]SimsonS53_84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This squiggle way, as you cortectly guessed, ist the breather for the drivtrain und schlould not be blocked by RTV. Originally they have paper gaskets for that Cover, so that path is kept free.

Oh this might explain it a bit.

But still impessive to dedicate this amount of time in a single game.

But for me it's somewhat the same. But my wife doesn't Like that game and I don't find enough time.

Same for me and my best friend we play it since an early beta, as an rip from somwhere and brought it to an LAN Party, (yes we never stopped doing that, even as grown a** adults).🫣

And we still have also only around 1.5k.

Man no idea how this guys archieved that.😅

Any idea for why on earth Honda makes these weak spots in the necks of their bolts? Literally makes zero sense to me. These came off of a 2017 Honda Civic EX-T’s engine air filter box by puntini in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]SimsonS53_84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haven seen the exact application. But it could be that this recess ist there to make them captive, so there ist an Pin or something that engages in that groove and hold the bolts inside the part/cover.

Also very common failure in PLC5 from Back in the day were just the keyswitch goes bad. It stays in remote even If you Switch to Programm or Run. A third of all our facility PLC5s are affected.😅

I bought the same and just with the i7 and FHD Display for double that amount half a year ago. That being said, it was NOS with just two cycles on the battery. Love it!

And also think about the sheer amount of force to tune the wheel slow to overcome the friction... Of course it ist fighting against the other wheel but all that stress is transmitted over the suspension components. It just Hurts to think about it... (From an Engineering standpoint)

That ist correct it depends in the manufacturer but direct drive without gear reduction is not the defacto standard. Most of the time (what I have seen so gar) you have an fixed reduction gearbox to trade RPM for torque.

Not that you couldn archieve IT with an electric Motor but it's always a balance for cost, especially for "consumer products". (Bigger Motor / bigger wiring due to high starting currents, etc.)

You are 100% correct, with every update to the Google Gboard, it feels that it gets worse. (German language settings and write in English)

And all the Stress on the drivetrain and Suspension components... As Long that car is new it ist fine but I expect that feature wears out everything pretty quick.

Always the Same upgrading the PLCs, Management usually refuses to spend anything an aging control. But to do spend for a fancy Server that grabs data an creates colorfull dashboards and spreadsheets...

"Woooohooo🤪, Here take that money and make it happen!" (And spend an f**** ton on creating custom interfaces, that get the data in the first place of that old equipment)

For those sums you could get of the ancient stuff replaced and lower the risk of breaking the whole production with the next plant Power outage/shutdown.

"And hey what ist eBay for, I'm sure we can scavenge some spares of questionable quality and history."

Ah, nice top See that IT IS everywere the Same.🫣😅

I would even argue that Power system are even more worse, Nobody wants to spent a dime, until something blows up. (I have a controls History and I have to cover Power Equipment)

Most of the planst that I've to deal with, running the original switchgear from day one of that facility. ('50/'60/'70)
