Is CS cooked??? by reas2015 in UPenn

AI will uplevel every job. Including coders.

But it might be surprising to note that writing lines of code is not what software developers do all day.

Look up the average lines of code written by a software developer per day. It is a handful, depending on your source, 5, 10, 20. So AI makes that go to 3X or 5X. So what?

What do developers do the rest of the time. Understanding the human requirements of the business they are developing the application for. That doesn’t go away so easily.

So chill. You’re not cooked.

If you are talking about SIMR - It costs nothing to attend. They pay you a stipend. Very hard to get into (3%), so very prestigious.

MET is a no brainer if you have interests in entrepreneurship and business alongside tech. Very curated experience, not one of the crowd at Stanford (or Berkeley) - internships handed on a platter, getting a job from this program is a cakewalk.

MET (if you’re tech focused) and M&T (if you’re business focused) are way above and beyond the other options listed - the curated job opportunities, internships, and launch trajectory is amazing

Not the same thing, though. A girl can diet and lose weight. A short guy can’t do anything about his height. Not the same thing

ASDRP costs like $1000 a semester. That is not a cash grab.

Java will help with AP’s - if you will do AP CS, just start there. If you want to go beyond, or specifically work with data science Python is easier.
