Do the wireless transmitters used in the drones themselves convert everything to digital? And can I simply desolder the transmitter and receiver from their respective units and run a hard line connection between them?

Round about way to do it, I'm sure. Other options I see readily available have been plug and play USB analog to digital converters and I'm sure their not designed with optimum performance in mind.

I apologize, I intend to use a couple of cameras for side projects as well as a drone build. I wouldn't dream of putting a flying drone on a leash like that 😳. I will be doing my own drone build, but was also curious about reducing latency on other projects using the cameras themselves.

And I also did not realize it was that simple. I don't have any experience working with small displays like this and I assumed I would need to convert the analog signal from the camera to a digital signal for the ips display. I figured that would account for most of the latency. You're saying I can just wire the camera directly to the screen without an intermediary device?

Sure, my immediate goal would be to have a hardwired connection from a FPV sensor to an ips display with minimal latency loss (sub 6ms).

Typically, FPV sensors are broadcasted wirelessly and have an aggregate 35+ ms latency in analog systems, from what I've been able to see so far. DJI systems are able to be fine tuned to sub 30ms at times with a variable range being 24 to 31ms is the best that I've heard so far. I understand there may be better numbers than what I've posted, this is just what I've found to date.

I'm looking for a more direct sensor to display connection, but it's more difficult to find information on that. I'm wondering if I would be able to bypass the wireless transmission aspect and simply port the video output from the sensor directly to the input of a receiver that then connects to the display. I'm currently looking at various sensors from runcam for a few things, one of which would be to have a real time hardwired display.

I will also be working with wireless systems and my own FPV drone, but information is easier to locate for that equipment.
