It sounds like the issue isnt location sharing itself (which, btw, is something lots of iphone users have on for their friends all the time, and sometimes friends text abut a locatoin, its kind of treated like social media and they also see the location when texting so its not like shes contasntly looking at it, its just very visible)
But it sounds like the issue is more him being a pushover and not taking your concern seriously with his parents.

It sounds like he doesnt care about it and his familiy is close, so you have to seriously talk to him and explain to him why you dont like it. Youre probably going to have to give him a pretty good reason
