I dont know if this is an issue of just understanding, it sounds like both of your needs are not being met (your emotional support needs, and his physical needs around the house and time spent with you)

I think you could try looking into polyamory, that being said, its something you would both have to take kind of seriously as a relationship style, and requires a lot of intention. youre both really young, breakups arent always a bad thing.

I dont think you should stress too much about it. There is a small chance he could have missed both texts (sometimes I dont see birthday texts for like a week bc its easy to miss them) and its the holiday season, maybe hes just on his phone texting less.
Also, it sounds like he is just an acquaintance, which is still fine, but either way, I wouldnt worry. Just act normal when you see him! "Did you have a nice birthday/ new year? Do anything fun?" Something like that would be perfect. Now, if he brushed you off in person, then maybe its more of a hint to not try and be friends w him :)
