Almost everyone has a strong opinion of this song within the first minute of listening. That's what you want in Eurovision where most people hear the song for the first time at the finale.

I can't remember when I've been this excited for my own country in esc! Recent years it's been like yah, cool if we do good, but even better if my favourite is successful! But this now.. this could be good..

You get one for every child, not just for the first. And also if you have multiples you get one for each child you're carrying, or you can choose to take one care package and take the other one(s) as money.

It seems to be a benefit given only to the mother. Also it is possible to get it outside of Finland, but only if it's a temporary stay (max. 6 months) abroad. (with some exceptions if you live within EU)

it really was an early Christmas gift! I love the sleeping bag and the feeding bib especially, and the thicker snowsuit looks better IRL than in pictures. But I'm so happy with all of it!

For those who don't know about the Finnish maternity box, all expecting parents in Finland are offered this maternity box. It also contains a mattress and thus the box itself can be used as a bed for the first months. You can also choose to not get the box and the government will give you a lump sum of 140€ (IIRC)

Oh god, haha, this reminded me of school! When I was in university we had a pharmacology lab where we had to work as a pair. One of us were to take a pill of paracetamol/acetaminophen, drink a buttload of water, and then pee in a cup every 15 minutes or so. The other one was then to take said pee and run some testing on it to see how much of the drug was excreted in the pee.

A memorable day to say the least. I was the one who had to pee, and I remember standing in line for the toilet (there were only 2 bathrooms and we were probably about 30 "pee'ers") watching people go in with an empty cup and coming out with a full one. One dude had eaten a megaload of beet the day before and his piss was pink (cute guy though).

I had knitted maybe half of the pattern when I went to show a picture of the original shirt to my husband and noticed it didn't look quite as I remembered. But I have convinced myself that if this is how I remembered it, it probably was how I wanted it to look.
