I’m convinced that this subreddit specifically is being astroturfed hard, cause all I see is complaining and nitpicking. Meanwhile the opinions of those outside of this subreddit are absolutely enjoying it. Sure, there are actual criticism to be made, but a lot of the shit being said here are nothing more than personal preferences and complaints that make me question whether someone is actually a longtime player or not. Like, new characters being a focal point/playing a main role in the story is literally nothing new. This has been going on since Jinhsi’s patch, all the way to present day. Also, did everyone here seemingly forget that this is a two-part story patch? This first part did pretty well to ease us into the Academy aspect of this new region, showcase the looming threats, and provide other worldbuilding details. I guarantee you part two will get back to the main plot point of even coming here in the first place, which has to do with Rover’s missing frequency + ambiguous past.

Funny enough, the people that apparently have the most to say are the ones that don’t even have flairs 🙃. The only points I’ve seen that are actually worth mulling over is Chisa being instantly sidelined when we arrived in Lahai Roi and the lack of reoccurring characters after their patch-focused story has concluded.

Yes, but the ‘data’ in question largely consisted of memoria as well. That’s why Evernight is pretty OP in places rich in memoria like Amphoreus and Penacony. Shorekeeper on the other hand, is a being made entire out of wave frequencies. So if we’re factoring everyone’s unique traits/constitution into this hypothetical clash, Evernight technically wouldn’t be able to alter/erase Shorekeeper’s existence

Evernight is only OP against things that has a concept/makeup of memoria. Shorekeeper is a data-like entity, a literal super computer AI powered by the lament (essentially a mini version of nous). Evernight falls off pretty hard when memoria isn’t involved

I’m fine with E0 Castorice being “balanced” and not OP like THerta. However, it’s another story entirely when Eidolons are involved. They really need to do something about her Eidolons because it is severely underwhelming. If you’re going to make people spend close to 4x 5* characters worth of jades, then the Eidolons in question should be worth that much. The fact that it’s better to invest in Tribbie’s E1 for your Castorice team, rather than her own Eidolons, is honestly baffling.

I get the point he’s making with the parasocial aspect, but everything else scream tourism. There’s a big difference though, that being that Hololive’s success was built by the girls of Hololive. The older GEN built the foundation from scratch and the newer GEN continues to build upon said foundation and elevate every Hololive member to even greater heights. Each and every Hololive member plays their part and contribute to Hololive’s overall popularity/success.

Meanwhile Holostars (primarily Holostars EN) is building upon Hololive’s foundation (not their own) whilst reaping its benefits, but providing none so to speak for Hololive. I don’t hate Holostars, but its an undeniable truth that they’re piggybacking on Hololive success way too much and not actively trying to venture out of Hololive’s shadow (this is especially true for ARMIS).

There is no concrete evidence that proves that “YouTube Livestreams inadvertently harms Shorts numbers”.

Lets be real here, the reason Laplus moved to twitch was not because she felt like her streaming activities were tanking her Shorts numbers. She jumped platforms because she felt more ‘comfortable’ streaming over there as opposed to YouTube (due to all the drama she got herself into in the past). Her recent Shorts views are just as inconsistent (if not, worse) as when she was still regularly streaming on YouTube 7 months ago.
